I. Hate. My. Computer. *PUNT*

Okay. So, I can't access the internet. How am I typing this if I can't access the internet, you ask? Well, if I use my Mozilla browser, and open up my home page, which happens to be the ZU main page, it's fine, though rather slow. I can click on "Forums", under the interactive menu, and the forums load, but I can't go to the forums through my bookmarks, or favorites. I also can't access it through IE, and I can't check my emails through the direct link icon I have on my desktop. I'm using Windows XP, and I've tried repairing the wireless connection, but the problem is still there. I've tried disabling my Virus Checker/Spam Stopper thing, still no luck. I've tried disconnecting the wireless router, I've tried unplugging various components, still nothing. When I run a connection troubleshooter with MSN, it says there's a problem with the "Key Ports". And I can still access the internet on an online game I play, fullscreen, called MapleStory.


Does anyone have any idea on what I should do? This is driving me even more crazy than I usually am, which may be dangerous. For the computer... :mad:

Have you tried scanning your computer for viruses? I remember once my internet connection was suddenly disabled, and when I called for support, I eventually had to change something in the registry to get it working again =O

btw, when you try to access stuff in IE, what actually happens?

Now I can access some sites through Ie. It used to just say "Cannot find server". EDIT~~ It actually shows the "Page cannot be dislayed" thing.

Now Mozilla doesn't work. MapleStory still does though, albeit slightly slower (if that's possible) than usual.

I don't think it's a virus. One day, I got off the computer, my sister got on, she said she didn't do anything, and it stopped working. It was fine when I was on, though.

My internet did that once. IE wouldn't work, Nor would AIM. Only Mozilla would... It ended up being a virus. So I think you should run a few scans with diffrent programs. If that doesn't help...Um...Your screwed?
