Help Clearing Browsers Cache(IE)

How do I clear my browsers cache? I need to clear it on Internet Explorer because that is what my parents use. I use FireFox now so I want to get rid of all my searches. Thanks to any one that can help.

Go to Tools, then Internet Options, then hit clear history....I believe that gets rid of the cache and history....and if that doesnt work...try the temp files. That should get er done.

Actually, I'm not sure if that will clear your searches. I don't know if you can actually clear your "Auto-fill" history, but you can clear cookies and temporary internet files. Clear and reset whatever you can, and hope for the best.

I would recomend doin this, but you need to also delete your cookies too, they ccan hold viruses and things, cookies, in a computer sense are sometimes bad, unlike real-life ones

I extremely recommend downloading this program called, CCleaner. It clears cache, history, cookies, etc. I've been using this for a long time; it's the best freeware cleaner out there. And their new updated versions are always free. Just select what you want CCleaner to clear. Once again, very good program.

What's so hard about doing it yourself?

Internet Options has buttons for all the essential file-killing stuff. Auto-fill things are somewhere in there too.

Some people are allergic to everything Windows so they want to use a different program because 'everything is better than Windows programs'.

What I do to clear my temp files is go to Tools > Delete Browsing History > Temporary Internet Files.

0_o I use CCleaner too. I use it because it not only clears EVERYTHING from IE (incuding stuff that's hard to reach), but it will also detect all the other browsers you have an can do the same thing for them. it can also clean out a lot of other stuff besides just cookies and cache, etc. The first time I used it it removed 100+ mb of unused data, as well as fixing some nasty registry problems I had and helped me get out of a sticky virus problem. -_-"

I'm affraid I have to second this...
I run it every sunday, only leaving the cookies and recently typed URL's out, thus essentially cleaning up my HDD. This keeps running my laptop smoothly, which is needed very hard...

Did you know that, when you empty your trashbin, the files are not really gone? This program goes so horribly deep that, when I didn't use it for a month, it cleared a gigabyte (!) of stored, deleted programmes...

*Goes and downloads CCleaner.*

Ok it is clear that it is needed, I'm afraid how much it is going to find.
