Animation

This may be a strange question, but does anyone know of any good animation programs? I've been interested in it for awhile and if anyone knows of one, I'd like to try it. It would be nice to find one that's free.

3D animation or 2D, flash-style animation?

The GIMP works for animating.

Gimp is very complicated to install and use, I prefer Microsoft GIF Animator

Sorry, I forgot to specify. I am looking for 2D animation- something like Flash.

Also, thanks for the other suggestions. I'll probably try them both.

I'm personally using Ulead gif animator... I just can't remember if I bought or downloaded it -_-

It's free, unpirated software, and couldn't be simpler to use. Just save your frames as .gifs, and then click and drag into the window, set the frame speed, and save! Download macromedia flash, preferably the latest version and preferably the proffesional version. you can get a free 30 trial, but you can aquire a serial key and have it for always.
