AIM Triton: Help!

Well, I wanted AIM for my new computer. So I went to AIM.com, downloaded Triton.

I used it... it was stupid. It was just like MSN, and I wanted AIM, not MSN. So I found the old version, downloaded it, and it works fine now.

The only problem is, I can't find a way to delete Triton. I can't get it off auto-sign on either! When I turn on the computer, the thing takes at least 10 minutes to load because of this stupid program.

Next thing I did was do search. The computer found the program, and I pressed delete, but it said "This will only delete shortcuts. Click here to add or remove programs."

So I clicked there, and it brings me to a gigantic list.

AIM is on there (normal) but no AIM Triton.

This is frustrating me... help!

Re: AIM Triton: Help!

I think you may of screwed it up by trying to delete it before trying to use Add or Remove programs.
Your best bet now if it does not show up in that list, Is to stright into its root folder and blast it to peices.

The root folder would be something like C:\Program Files\AIM Triton or something along those lines.

No AIM Triton Folder.

I also searched through the AIM folder... it isn't there either.

Re: AIM Triton: Help!

I beleive it's in the Folder "AOD". If not, I have no real help to offer - I just know some of my AIM files are in that folder - I'm currently waging a war with the AOL browser, myself.

Re: AIM Triton: Help!

Thats good, Looks like you know what your doing.
I just suddenly realized that I have AIM Triton installed.
Though it never connects for me...So I just stick with AIM95. I've never got round to installing it.

But just like you, I can't see any uninstall for Triton. But I did find this...See if it works for you. (Worked for me)

Yes, I know what I'm doing. Thats why it frustrates me that I can't figure out.

Gimme a moment, let me check.

Nope, that's all I see.

Tsukasa, would it be under C:\Program Files?

EDIT:

Nope, it's not under AOD.

Re: AIM Triton: Help!

Aha! I finally eliminated the browser.

Check the folder labeled "Common files", there should be an AOL folder within - it has the most recent version of AIM (which I assume is Triton?) in there.

Re: AIM Triton: Help!

Thank you so much, Tsukasa!

It was located in a really strange place.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\AOL\1134612840\ee

Why must they make it so hard?

Re: AIM Triton: Help!

You probably already tried it, but did you search for "AIM?" That might list Tiriton for you...

EDIT: Always late I am.

Re: AIM Triton: Help!

S'ok.

Tsukasa, I now understand why I was so confused. AIM Triton's installer was labeled AIM uninstaller, and AIM 9.5's was labeled AOL uninstaller.

This can be locked now.

Thanks, Tsu! ^^

Re: AIM Triton: Help!

I thought the folder location/name was rather strange myself.

Glad we were both able to solve that little problem, though.

Locked upon request.
