he got an old Duron to 3.8GHZ with 4.2V to it on only fan cooling... the fan went out and...

let this be a lesson to those whom beleive that they can OC a peice of shid to an increadible level.

EDIT: found site with several more OC'ing misadventures from the same people...

what sucks is it destroyed the motherboard and all the PCI/AGP cards as well. with a hole in the motherboard and such high volts, there will be an electric surge and...

Well Im sure all of it was crap and useless anyway, It was funny too how when it blew up. It took up the lock in switch thingy. So it was quite an explosion.

That was amazing, most do it with Intel Pentium 4 w/ HT technology!!!! Yea, I had my bor's friend overcloak my CPU just a tad bit (3.0-3.2ghz) He said he'd replace anythign that died, its working nicely. The fan isn't louder or anything, just like it used to be, jsut .2 more ghz for $0! w00t!

P4s do not overclock well. they have serious overheating problems. I can get my athlon 3000+(2.0GHZ) to 2.5GHZ[compareable to a 3.4-3.8GHZ p4 for gaming] or so stable if I used the same fan I could only get a 3.0GHZ p4 to maybe 3.3-3.4GHZ.

Umm...They can overclock pretty well. But they're crap in todays technology.
