Oh DirectX 8, where for art thou

Sorry if I sound rude and demanding, but I NEED directX version 8 or higher. The problem is, I don't have the internet on my home computer, the computer I need it on. I've tried many different methods, freinds trying to fit it on floppy's (Way to big to fit on one of those) CD-Rs etc. Something has always gone wrong. It seems like the only method left is to buy a PC game which has it ready installed. The problem is, I've already brought two PC games which only had directX 7.0 on. That's useless to me. I have directX 7.1. Please, please, please, please, please can someone tell me a PC game which has directX version 8 or higher on it. It doesn't matter if the game is good or crap or whatever, although it would be preferable if it was cheap. Thank's in advance.

You must not have Windows XP if your DirectX version is 8.1 or lower. What OS are you running?

Have you tried using the DirectX 9.0c Redist package on a CD-R? Attempting to use the setup file provided through the Microsoft Download page DirectX 9.0c End-User Runtime will simply fail without an internet connection. You MUST use the full redistribution package for an offline installation.

lol how hard is it to put a .exe file on a CD? And install it on yours?
Doing that should be easy, Buying a new computer just for that is a joke.

If you have a USB port on your home computer, and a thumb drive readily available, you should have no problem. Thumb drives can hold up to 1 GB, and I doubt DirectX is that big. Not many programs are.
