Need help resizing images

Everytime I go to imageshack, I try to upolad a sig (400 by 150) and it says its to big. I click on the resize button, nothing. I change the file type, nothing. png,gif, even bit, nothing works! Help me!

Oh wait... it says invalid file type... and.... I used a valid one. What do I do now?

Well, might I ask what kind of file you are attempting to upload? Make sure it isn't a .pdf or whatever before you upload it. If you are uploading a photoshop image, or any image (that has layers) make sure it has been flattened before upload.

So, what kinda file is it?

Thats exactly what it is, once you cram everything in one layer you can save it as different file types. Although the file types you just mentioned should be valid filetypes. I dunno why it isnt working.

Although, I have never used photobucket, but, could it be that you have not validated your account yet? I doubt that is the reason, but maybe. (heck, I don't even know if PB requires you to validate your account, just a guess.).

Nope, nothing. Made all the layers one layer, nothing. Tried all the file types, nothing. This stinks! My account IS registered, I checked. What could it possibly be that I'm doing wrong?

Are you using Photoshop?

Are you saving using Save For Web?

Heh, I have some obscure things that probably won't help, but might anyway!

You could...

Clear your cookies
and/or
Clear your cache (also known as your "files")

Although those probably won't do much. Another thing, are you going file>save as> and then saving it as .png (/.jpg/.gif)? Or do you think you might be attempting to save it as a transparent object?

And you mentioned you are using photoshop, make it 100% sure that it is a flat image. Try going layer>flatten image again just to make sure, and then saving it again.

OMG! PEOPLE! Okay... teleice... are you saving it as a jpg? That is the only thing you can save it as. And when you go to upload make sure it is only the .jpg image not the .psd image because that won't upload. *goes to delete all the spam* < wish I could... have to go point this out to someone... bah.
