DS wireless routers...

I own a D-Link wireless router, and if I were to buy a Wi-Fi capable DS game, could I use that as my connection?

PS: What does 'Wi-Fi' stand for?

PSS/ PPS: Sorry if there is already a thread for this.

The model number on the bottem says DI-524, and on the top it says '802.11g/2.4GHz wireless router.'

Re: DS wireless routers...

I would reccomend getting the USB adaptor for the DS. It is a dedicated signal for the DS to pick up. But if your router works for it, I would stick with that.

Re: DS wireless routers...

If your router only works in 802.11g format, the DS won't pick up the signal. If you can switch it to 802.11b or something else, then your golden.

802.11g is backwards compatible with 802.11b.

...But Nintendo Wi-Fi says that there are two versions of that router. One of them doesn't work with NWF.

Re: DS wireless routers...

It depends what version of the router you have as said by Mr. Wonderful. There's A and C1. A is not compatible and C1 is. And here is the router compatibility list from Nintendo.

Type in your routers IP address in the internet's address bar. (If you have no clue what that is, look up your router at D-Link.com for instructions.)

Re: DS wireless routers...

Dang. It's version A. Is the DS USB blah-blah-blah worth buying? Or should I buy a compatable router instead?

Re: DS wireless routers...

stable wireless routers can be up to around $80, and a USB connector is only about
$30. You be the judge.

Wi-Fi stands for Wireless Fidelity, to answer one of your questions.
