Help me with Unistallation!!!
Help me!!!! I am trying to uninstall 2 computer games, on that works, but it is messed up since I completed it. The messed up one completed is the "Hobbit" game, and most textures like cliffs and rocks are pitch black and I can't finish it again because an entire level is black, and it won't let me unistall becuase a message that says "Internal Failure error Number: 0x80040707" Description: " The second game is my fault, I wanted to be able to cheat and when I read some where that if you alter a game file you can cheat and stuff, the game is "Harry Potter and the Champer of Secrets" and when I did that some green text appeared in the corner, then I tried to fix this by returning the game file EXACTLY how it was before I with it the green letters and lines of code still where in the upper left corner of the game! When I try to uninstall it a message says "Harry Potter II Error Extracting Support Files Access Denied" am using a Microsoft Windows XP, so please help anybody!!!
It doesn't really matter if you cannot help me with Harry Potter 2, the green letters are just annoying and kind of make the game less fun...

Quote:
As for the cheats mentioned in the quote, if the cheats were put there by the original game programers, they should be totally reliable. If they aren't, shame on the creators. However, I can see the danger in using a hack on the game, cracking the game, or using a third party game modifier. Even game modifiers like the construction set that comes with Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (made by the game creators), can, in fact, screw up your game. Frequent crashing, messed up textures, even what he described can happen. However, it won't usually mess up the games ability to install and/or uninstall. My advice would be to call a technical support line, or head to a Best Buy and ask the computer guy there (I would DEFINATELY reccomend calling the support line though) on the topic. You aren't alone, mind you. When I installed KOTOR II, it crashed when I opened it, and refused to run. When I tried to uninstall it, it came up with an error and aborted the process. It turns out my CD ROM drive was messed up. So, I would also reccomend clening out the CD (or DVD) drive that you use for the game. That might help.
