Hmm, I'll try what you said.

I got the 30 gig Video, and no I don't have any videos on it yet. I'm not sure if I'm going to even put any on if the only way to get them is paying through itunes. I did get the black color, it looks very awesome.

Mmmm, yummy.

Re: The Official iPod Thread

Yeah, I guess you couldn't just put any video on it. It would have to be the right format or something. If you buy songs off of iTunes it comes with Cover art, my cousin does, not me though. The black....it's so beautiful.....wanna trade?

Re: The Official iPod Thread

Hey guys, I was thinking about getting the 30gb video Ipod. And I have a few questions before I get it hough, Please help me out.

1. I have an Ipod mini, not nano. But with it, I charge it and put music on it with a USB. Will I be able to charge and put songs/videos with the USB on the new Ipod? If not, wha would I use to put data on it?

2. How durable is the new Ipod? I've heard about people's Ipod Nano screens breaking, is this the same with the Ipod Video?

Thanks alot, I feel stupid for asking this. But then again, I only ever had an Ipod Mini, and heck, they stopped making those. lol.

1. Yeah, you should be able to USB transfer/charge. Otherwise you could use the superior 1394 Firewire connection. Provided you have a Firewire port that is.

2. Not sure, although because it looks fairly thin, I wouldn't expect it to be as hard as a rock. Just treat it with care, and it should be fine. Grab a case as well.

Re: The Official iPod Thread

A word of advice to anyone that owns or is planning to buy an iPod: Get an iSkin for it. It is the best iPod accessory I've bought. Protects the whole iPod and has a nice hard plastic cover for the screen.

Re: The Official iPod Thread

When you think about it, iPods are just MP3 Players that sometimes have screens. I don't see why people go nuts for it.

Re: The Official iPod Thread

I have an iPod Mini and got it for my birthday. I don't want to look "cool" I don't need an mp3 to enhance myself. I think of my iPod as a practical tool, I use it for my music and it is very rarely seen out of hand or pocket.

So ******s that use it for "fashion" give me your iPods so I can sell them on eBay and go hang yourself with you belts.

Re: The Official iPod Thread

As disheartening as it is to succumb to the massive popularity of it, we have no choice but to deem this...

The Official iPod Thread.

Stuck. You may shout horray now.

Oh, and don't start getting politically correct about this and demand it be an MP3 player thread.

Re: The Official iPod Thread

Does anyone know any good programs to fetch album art on iTunes for Windows? I'm not having much luck finding anything that's good. I hoping this is iPod related enough to go here as well.

Well when you download music straight off of iTunes it has the album art all ready for you. If you are say, importing a CD, you have to manuelly put in the album art.

I usually just go to google, type in the album, and drag and drop. Make sure to you ctrl+shift to select each song you want to have the particular album art. Right click and select "Get info". Check the little box next to "Album Art" and drag the picture from google into the little square.

Pretty simple.

Re: The Official iPod Thread

Yeah, I already did it a few times that way, but with 2000 some songs to do, that'll take a while so I was looking for a program that does it automatically for you. I've seen quite a few, but they're Mac only, so that's not much use to me.

Only people who can't get iPods hate them. It is a proven fact that I made up myself. *nod*

Nano nano nano! I waited for the nano so if I drop it while I'm doing something random it still won't skip. Too bad it's only 2 GBs O.o

I have about 50 songs on it right now and I'm scared to plug it into my computer because the update will take days.

I dispise them because there are superior products out there, when people are buying these iPod's cause they are the latest trend thing. I'd take an iAudio X5 or an iRiver H340 over any iPod, any day.

Personally, I'd go for the Archos AV 700, instead of getting a superior MP3 player that lacks in space. The biggest iRiver I've seen is 20GB, and they're extremely expensive. They may have superior hardware, but I have to say that for value Mac beats them with a giant metal stick. Do the math.

Except in Britland, where you guys are paying almost double what we pay here in America. Tough luck. =/

Re: The Official iPod Thread

The thing about the AV 700 is that even though it is awesome is the screen is large and could possibly break if dropped onto a hard surface.

This board needs an 'all other mp3 players' thread.

And who taught you this awesome ability? Hm? *waits*.....Well anyways.

I have a 20GB(5,000 songs), color screen, 830 or so songs. I'll have 1,000 soon! I want soon photos on it, but I have to have iPhoto huh?

Has anyone else noticed there iPod not keeping it's charge very long after having it awhile? I know it's normal, but I got it in May and it seems to soon to be dying. No doubt I've charge it everyday since I've had it. So maybe that's why. I love it, I can hardly live without it. Which brings me to my next comment.

My right earbud recently went out, and I found myself wanting to listen to it when I'm doing other stuff but I don't have any other headphones that sound good with it. I plan on getting some noise canceling ones. Does anybody have any that they love? Or can suggest some good ones? And yes I do have a hook up for my home theater so I'm not totally without music. I am when I'm skateboarding though, and that's not cool.

Re: The Official iPod Thread

Okay. I got a 30 gig black one on Wednesday. I had it charged fully this morning, but by the time I got home from school the battery was dead. It also seems to be charging way too fast. Should I see if there's something wrong with it, or is the battery in the new one effed up?

Yeah, I think you should call Apple or send it in. It should last longer than that. And charging way to fast? How fast? It should be like 3 or 4 hours when it's dead (or near dead), maybe less.
