AMD is my new love, as this processor beats the crap out of my 3 year old P4. I'm going AMD , DFI and nVidia for all my next comps

i totally agree with you mate, im a huge AMD fan now, direct access processors totally pwn ones that go through the chipset

this thing is loaded and can run all the hardcore apps as well as the bottom of the line iMac G5. I think that Apple switching to Intel boards is a smart idea to keep them going strong.

if it makes any of you feal better, GCs computer only runs about half as fast as it potentially could because he is using single channel ram. I don't know why anyone would use single channel ram when dual channel ram is similarly prices and is litterally twice as fast. My computer which cost a thrid as much could keep up with his if he doesn't go dual channel(His will outprform mine, but still)

You spent $1200 on that, and it only has a 17" monitor and a Radeon Xpress 200?
Ew.

You should of saved your money and invested it in a SLi or a Crossfire system, because for that money, that system sucks.

11438 @ 3.4ghz (630/980 gpu)
The cpu was at 58c with the fan on max (3000 rpm)
I like my quiet, so I run it at 3ghz normally (around 1000rpm)

FYI waha, the TDP on the CPUs isn't exactly a linear thing, yes, you increased the CPU speed by a moderate amount, but it would be more accurate to calculate the TDP based off of the x6800 @ 3.0GHz over the e6600

The temptation to not bother with an R600 and get a 8800 and sell my current AMD system in favour of a Conroe setup is becoming an increasing possibilty.

-its not the best, but hey, i got it for $400. it came with the powercord, laptop, car power cord, dock, a usb mouse, and an internet card. got from ebay, and it works quite well, considering i dont run any high end games like battle for middle earth. i only play like some bad MMOs, a few roms and stuff like age of empires, and stafcraft. so its all good.
