Wierd labeling on ipod

I just bought some new songs for my ipod touch today, and ever since I synced it, it's been labeled weirdly.

My Kiss music is divided between two files, one called "Kiss" and one called "KISS". Both contain the same music, but are treated as different artists.

The same happens with my DragonForce stuff, one is called "DragonForce", and the other "Dragonforce".

Finally, one of my Thrice albums has a Guns N Roses album cover for some reason.

I've tried resyncing a few times, but I can't get them to go back the to the correct way. How do I get rid of the extra titles and get the original album cover back?

Re: Wierd labeling on ipod

You pretty much have to do it manually (right click and hit get info and then change it) You can also use the Gracenote thing and chose a different labeling, but that's usually also wrong.

Yeah, just go through and manually relable everything. Multi-select is your friend.

Re: Wierd labeling on ipod

If you used a real program that actually is made to listen to music and not **** around with your computer (such as foobar), there's a feature called Auto Tag that would force you to press two buttons, and bang, everything set.

So my recommendation is:
a) close iTunes
b) go to www.foobar2000.com
c) download, install, run, add files
d) highlight all files with the same artist (even if they have different names like DragonForce, Dragon Force, Dragon_Force etc)
e) replace the artist name with, say, "Dragonforce"
f) close foobar
g) start the piece of sh- I mean iTunes
h) sync
i) enjoy

edit: realized you bought the low quality versions from iTunes store, there's nothing you can do then. Sorry mate!
