Don't have an HDTV, found a NICE one for a GREAT price, but I can't buy it.
Here is the thing... The 32" SDTV in our living room is broken, and has been for 2 and a half years. My dad has been always been talking about how we need a new TV for the living room. I found a really nice HDTV for a great price. It's a Panasonic VIERA TC-P42G10. 42 inch. I have been doing a some research on which type of screen is best, and I think Plasma is. Colors are best on plasma, the blacks and deep and the brights are bright. By the way, contrast ratio on this TV is 2,000,000:1. And the motion on plasmas are beteer than LCDs or DLPs. partly why those are expensive screens is sometimes when they are 120 or 240 hz. Plasma screens are already like, 600 hz so they don't need to spend money on making it more efficient like LCDs and DLPs do, since they have to pay more to get that type of technology on those types of screens. And you can view the TV from all angles and still have the same quality as if you are sitting in it's direction facing you directly. And I heard this is the best plasma series on the market. The problem is though, my dad isn't willing to spend the money. I would spend the money if I was older and had a job cause I'm 14. I know, it's money, but on Amazon you can get it for $830 dollars when it's originally $1200. It says add to cart to check price and that is what it said, so yeah. My dad doesn't want to spend the money. I know, maybe I'm acting like a baby and maybe some of you will say that but we need a TV in the living room again. Especially a nice one at a great price.
Oh it also has Amazon Video On Demand Service, YouTube, all this neat stuff if you have an interent connection, which I do. An SD card slot built right in, whcih is nice. 3 HDMI inputs. I'm getting an Xbox 360 Elite for Christmas, so this would be nice with this TV. And I know all the stuff about plasma's burn in. I researched this as well and it said it's less likely to happen now with new TVs, which this is, and especially even more less likely to happen with top of the line brands such as Panasonic, and Samsung and Sony, you get it. Take a look at the TV. Such a great deal, for a great TV. But tell me your opinions. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...P79YX802345CYT Oh, and it's THX certified. |

YouTube quality is ♥♥♥♥. No kind of TV can make it better.
Also, either your link is broken, or my computer's being a dumbass. If you've done your research, and this is the best you've found, I'd say you've got yourself a TV. |

It is a very nice TV.
I'd add it to my living room. |

Newegg has it for a good deal less with free shipping(your amazon link says 899, not 83o btw). You could also get 720p instead and save almost $300. Though that's up to you and if you want to spend less.

Re: Don't have an HDTV, found a NICE one for a GREAT price, but I can't buy it.
I have the 50 inch Panasonic G10 and I must say it is pretty much the perfect TV if you can't get a Kuro. I previously had a 52" Samsung A750 LCD but I got rid of it in favour of the plasma. The difference when gaming is unbelievable. The G10 has CRT-like input lag, which on top of the better motion handling and flawless viewing angles makes it really good for gaming. It looks great with HD programming too of course lol.
The Samsung LCD I had before had a sharp picture for the most part, but it got blurry when there was lots of motion and the input lag was unbearable, except in PC mode which you can use with 1080P signals. It was fine with my 360 since it upscales every game to 1080P, but my PS3 is my main console, and it doesn't upscale many games to 1080P so that wasn't acceptable. On top of that playing in PC mode looked like garbage, so while it reduced input lag it wasn't nearly as nice looking as playing under normal picture modes. You can play in any mode (THX, custom, etc) with the G10 without having input lag problems, so you get the best gaming experience possible. The only downside to the G10 is under certain circumstances you can see phosphor trails, which are basically yellow trails. It's not as bad as motion blur you get with LCDs, but it is there. There's also temporary image retention (IR), which means if you play a game with static health bars on the screen or something for a while you'll see a faint "ghost" image of the health bars on your TV even after you are done playing. You can only see the IR when the screen is dark though, and it always goes away in a couple minutes anyway. Anyway, basically all I'm saying is if you can convince your dad to buy a TV you should try to convince him that the one you are looking at is the best one. You could even consider the S1 or X1 Panasonic plasma series if he really can't spend that much money. While I don't have a TV from either series I do know that they come highly recommended as well.
