Re: Signature/Small Work Showcase [V.III]: Photoshop Peril

You gotta start somewhere.
First off there isn't a good flow, I see stuff going horizontal, then there's like vertical stuff in the background and it cancels out completely. The stock is incredibley low quality and rendered out pretty bad. There isn't any good depth to it or blending of the stock into the sig. Anddd, the text is pretty slapped on.

I think this was much better than my last. I used the tutorial by Ranil, but not every little thing. I kept the text pixel because all the fonts I downloaded weren't too good on it.

Kouten: Try and make the render blend in a little more. The text needs to be fixed up a bit. And see where the darker part of the sig just changes to the brighter part? Keep it one color or smudge it a bit.

Pertalta: It's good, I like it, The sides could use a bit of effects in there, but it's an awesome sig! Besides, Pixel font rocks, especially when it's shaded.

Pixel fonts are never a good choice on sigs. I could see this sig to be a lot better if there was some depth and a focal point, as right now the graphic is rather... flat.

After several months of being photoshop-less due to my new laptop (Elements 3.0 is incredibly glitchy on it, due to my laptop's awsomeness), I've finally obtained CS3, and I tried it out on a request from a member on another forum:

Re: Signature/Small Work Showcase [V.III]: Photoshop Peril

At first glance it looked really cool. Then I moved my screen so I could actually see, and decided I didn't like it as much. The two red blobs look... bad. I dunno. They don't seem to blend right, see to cover up too much. Other then that, everything looks wonderful. I do like the colors in it, just not the way that the red looks...

Looks cool. Though, I think a dark blue would be more fitting instead of all the red. Maybe not, though. xD

Re: Signature/Small Work Showcase [V.III]: Photoshop Peril

To be honest, the first thing I thought about that sig was that someone had gone into paint and pasted some images in. That was only a quick glance, though. After looking at it more you can see how much more work has gone into it. The colouring is nice, but it is very.. collage-y. There's no real blending between images, and the stark white background makes it look very plain.

Re: Signature/Small Work Showcase [V.III]: Photoshop Peril

I'm not really feeling the text or pinkish glow for some reason. ^

I can't seem to find any decent Darknuts renders or screenshots, so I just went simple and old-school on this one. Does it look alright? I just want to sport a decent signature that will do my username justice.

Needs an American flag for the background if you're aiming for patriotism.

The image you used is very choppy around the edges - I would clean it up. And the way you positioned it also isn't very appealing. Perhaps shrink it. The elements in the sig are very unbalanced - try to pay attention to thirds. The lighting is too bright, in my opinion, and looks a little foggy. The text is very plain, and probably too large.

Keep trying! Check out the tutorials here on ZU.

I like it, except that the right and left sides look empty and plain. The colors are very nice. The font doesn't bother me, but I think it may look better positioned elsewhere. Overall, good job.

It's quite plain. The pink shades in there don't look good, in my opinion. The text is too large, and the small square images could be aligned better. It has potential - work on the background.

Darknuts: Its nice, but needs something going on. Though, the simplicity is realy good. If you got rid of the leaves and did some pentooling, would be a lot better.

went for an Aquatic effect

I really like the effects done around it, but a little more depth and detail would have been great, as well as a thicker border.

Re: Signature/Small Work Showcase [V.III]: Photoshop Peril

Everything Coss said, and I also think it wouldn't hurt erasing a few effects over the render, just to make it a little clearer. I'm not sure if I like the motion blur over the text, either.
