Sig Making Tips

I'm wondering what I should do to improve, to me, the signatures I make look pretty good, but everyone elses are way better, I usually just use brushes, but are there any effects or other things I should try out? Any tips on making signatures better are welcome here, not only for me but for others too to come here and find ways to make their signatures look better.

Here are 6 examples of things I've made, basically with only brushes because thats the only way I know how to make sigs look better, but anyways...













As you can see all look somewhat good, but they are only renders with a border and brushes, so, any tips?

This is the Small work showcase -- you've got to obey the rules, such as only posting one at a time -- but it keeps everything together and you're much more likely to get better critique. All the up 'n coming sigmakers frequent it -- and there's a good community going on.
