Large photos, and getting them on the internet.

I hope this is the right place to put this... and if it's not, could mods please move it to where it should be?

I was just wanting to know two things: What is the best graphical format to put photos in? (bmp, jpg, png... etc.) And what image-uploading sites allow for a picture that is 21969 pixels across and 2368 pixels tall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sheesh, well I'm assuming it's a photographic image? In which case JPEG is the best compression to use. All image hosting sites I know of don't have width and height restrictions, but rather file size restrictions. How large is the file?

A file of that size would be several megs. Only thing I can think of is get your own web hosting.

I hate sendspace. Sorry, I just have bad experiences from another forum. I was trying to download things from there, and all of the files were missing...

But yeah, you would need your own web hosting for anything of that size. I know zoomshare.com gives you 25megs of storage for free if you make a website. If you have time to kill, just make a bunch of sites just for the file storage. You can upload anything on there, as long as you don't pass the 25meg limit. But then you just make another site to get more room...

That only happens after months of having the file up. Trust me, it's good to use if you need to get a certain file now.

7 Photos merged together into a panorama. I'm not sure; does it make a difference that my camera is 10.1 Megapixels?

137 MB as a .psd (I was using PS as my photo editor, as it has a great photo-merging thingy, but I forgot to save as .jpg)

Several? See above. I decided not to get a web hosting though.

Resized; now it's 140 KB as a .jpg - small enough to email to people who want it, but just big enough to see the detail needed.

Unfortunately, 25 MB wouldn't have been nearly enough, even if I'd converted it to .jpg (this was actually part of my descision to not get a web hosting)
