transparency problem

Okay. I've a sig opened in photoshop, and I'm trying to round the edges. This is my method; tell me if I'm doing something wrong because it's not working for me.

1. Make a selection with the marquee tool with a feather of 15 px.
2. Press select inverse, which selects the corners.
Whenever I press delete, it doesn't just delete the corners, but most of the sig so it looks like the sig is fading from the middle out. Same thing with the stroke command; whenever I do stroke on a seemingly rounded selection, it strokes and the stroke fades from the outside to the middle.

Help please?

Go to the shape tool (U).
Select rounded rectangle tool.
At the top select paths, it has a shape with the pen symbol.
Set feather to your liking (15 px in your case)
Drag the tool from one corner to the other to select the sig.
Right click inside with the pen tool and click "make selection".
Make feather 0px and press Okay.
Select inverse, delete.

1) download gimp
2) Go to select all
3) Gool to rounded ractangle
4) Right click > cut

There. Sorry I don't know photoshop. But GIMP is way easier for round edges.

if you have photoshop, it's actually way easy you just have to know how, I know I'm not the best sig maker, but it is easy, plus photoshop is way better than gimp, and plus he's already used to photoshop, and he's improved alot using photoshop, going to gimp would be a major setback
