Sarah's Wallpaper Portfolio
Computer generated stuffs are here, so...
I recently began to experiment with Photoshop CS2. I've been making wallpapers for friends and family, using a variety of brushes and things I collected from the web. most of the wallpapers have at least one image found via google from it, but they are my creations. Copyright 2007 Me. I'm going to show each of them in the order that I made them, as well as give a date and timeline for each works, yada yada yada. There are five or six in total, I can't remember. ![]() This one is the first made. I had pixel aspect ratio on, and during the time, I stupidly couldn't figure out how to turn it off [A very simple thing: Just go to the drop down menu and click. >.<]. Luckily, without it, it turned out fine. The text IS a name of a band, yes, but unfortunately I'm sworn to secrecy about that. xD This wallpaper was refused by one of the band members [whom I know personally, don't fret], saying that the music staffs were annoying, however I thought they were nice. But meh--it's for HIS band. It will have to be redone. This is simply a mix of colors and brushes and given bright edges by switching the colors with their negatives; I can't remember what that filter is called at the moment. Took me about an hour and a half. 6/13/07 ![]() This one was for my best friend, recieved thankfully, even though pixel aspect ratio was STILL ON; this time it didn't come out so well, though. As you can see, they look as if thei're too skinny, but with PAR they're just fine. I've already beaten myself up for that mistake. This was done by using a Taproot band picture from google and using brushes galore with colors, some burning and dodging, and a final twist of changing the filter to a watercolor type. Took about two hours. 6/14/07 This one was made for a member of ZU [conan]. He's more of a gothic emo-ish type, so I put that in this theme, using obvious colors such as black, grey, and red. He loved the outcome. So did I, heh. AND I turned off PAR. Yay! Made with two pictures from google, combined carefully, and used much blurring, dodging and burning, and finally giving the last bit a dark stroke filter, I believe. Otherwise, it's something similar. Took at least two hours. It's still my favorite, and had the most layers because of the overlapping text. 6/17/07 ![]() This was a simple request by a friend over MySpace. He wanted the monster logo with his fox bakground, an easy task. I just founf Monster, put it in as a few layers, and changed the opacity to a different percentage for each layer, then filled it with some grunge brushes and dodged a part of it, also giving a finishing touch with lightning brushes and a new filter for depth. Took about an hour or so. 6/18/07 ![]() This is another or my favorites, made for another good friend of mine. She likes cats, and when I couldn't find a cute kitten picture without porn showing up, I went or this: Ducks AND a cat! SImply using lots of bright colors, using the creepy trees brush and touching on it with floral brushes to make colorful trees; the background was filled with blue clouds of different shades, and finally I put grass via brush. I love brushes, haha. Took sometime around two hours. 6/18/07 ![]() I personally really like this one. It's supposed to symbolize musical blockage, I guess.this was refused by my sister, who didn't want something so 'tornado-y' as her MySpace background. She's more into rocker. Psh. So, this will have to be a redo as well, but with different images. Taken from a painting mixed with colors and fractal brushes in different shades of blue, as well the the cloud being from a brush as well, butt kind of lowering the quality, a mistake on my part. >.< Two hours. 6/18/07 And that's it! >.> I do beleive I've improved. I'm offering to do some for people, but I doubt requests should be made here. PM or something. Gimme a theme and/or picture and a description, and I'll be on my way. |

Re: Sarah's Wallpaper Portfolio
WOW! That one with the kitten and ducklings is great. It has a nice story-book, fantasy feel to it and makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Nice work!

Re: Sarah's Wallpaper Portfolio
Take note that the images found via google aren't copyrighted to me. The creations with them are. And I'm not all that good. I'm cheating, in a sense, but hey, it's making something visible.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() All were made within the last three weeks. The first was a dorky one made for my sister's MySpace, using various band symbols and such. The second is for my cousin, though he had no use for it, and was inspired by his past love for dalmations in his youth. Cute. Thirdly goes the wallpaper/now banner used for Fish Head's Commentary, those of you who looked into that thead know what that is. Fourth is one made today featuring a motocross guy and the kid's requested motocross number and last name. That one was lamely done, not really inspired by much but boredom. Last one is my new signature, and also a banner on my own MySpace. Yeah, I do MySpace crap, so what? I'd like to really discuss the third one, because that one was hand crafted and then scanned and colored. It is the truest piece of art on that list. It's a tesselation, which is a pattern-like-thing concerning animals for those who don't know. Look it up. The coloring was particularly fun, mostly because I really did enjoy meshing the colors so fruitfully, and brushes and filters, no matter how mediocre it is to use them, made it look semi scalelike. The eyes were done with multiple circles and then altered with darkening and such. It took the longest, probably a good 4 hours to complete. Enjoy. Last edited by Sarah; 07-22-2007 at 02:07 AM. |
