Smudge question
I've been looking at some tutorials, and some of them call for smudging. Most of these tutorials show the menu that they used for brushing, and it has options such as "Scattering" and "Smoothing" ticked. Whenever I go to my brush menu, I'm not able to select these. Is there a way to unlock them? Please help.

You're using Photoshop, right? What version are you on? I'm on CS3, but I know some of those features might not be available on older versions.
Also, make sure the right layer is selected. Photoshop won't let you brush at all if you've got a text-layer selected, for instance.

Try selecting the Smudge Tool first and make sure that a layer is selected that is visible (check if the eye next to the layer is open). You should be able to check and uncheck the boxes next to the Scattering pannel. If not, then try the brush tool as well to see if its just the smudge tool that has that problem.

That's your problem. PS7 doesn't allow scattered smudging.
