Sprite Comic Feedback
I want to make a sprite comic, but I don't want it to a silly jokefest, I want
to make something more dramatic, like a game, but I'm not sure what kind of idea I should focus on, is there any good examples of dramatic sprite comics, or are there any ideas you think are worth exploring?

Re: Sprite Comic Feedback
I'll go ahead and plug my own comic here, as it seems to fit the criteria you're looking for...
Link to the Laughs I try to put humour first and foremost, but I also incorporate a coherent plot. It keeps the story moving and gives structure to it, and just generally keeps it from degenerating into a brainlessly random "joke-fest" like so many other sprite comics do. Perhaps reading my comic might give you some ideas ![]()

Re: Sprite Comic Feedback
I'm not sure if there are any good examples of "serious" sprite comics. People don't take sprite comics very seriously, for one. Dramtic sprite comics exist, but they more than often revolve around convoluted, anime-esque plots with an over-abundace of Sonic edits, so I'd try to stay away from that, if anything.
![]() My only tips would be to keep narrative simple, as you are dealing with sprites after all. Also, try to disconnect your sprites from the video game characters they represent, so that you have your own original characters. In helps in this regard if you use fairly obscure sprites or edits. |
