The Big War Going On Inside Your Nintendo Right Now

Hi! This is a comic series I've been working on, called 'the big war going on inside your nintendo right now'! And it's about Nintendo Characters who get left in the Nintendo after nobody's playing it, and how they all get into a big fight with each other. Woot!

Thanks for reading and tell me what you think, if you haven't read this already. Some may remember this!

Only problem is, Megaman is a Capcom Character, other then that, you're very good at making the details and scenery of the comic, looks very good.

(Oh God, I've been avoiding this section since I got here, why did I even bother looking in here ... sigh)

Everything looks clean, so I suppose I can't complain about that. Only thing that looked off was the odd yellow spots surrounding the sprite in the second frame. And for some reason looking at that second last frame that has text, I think the text might be too large? You probably meant for that, as the character is larger, but that throws me off a tiny bit.

Other than that I can't really judge this until you actually get to the plot. There's only so high a level you can reach with these things, and you've essentially reached that point. There is, however, no limit to a proper story. I'll be looking toward your next issue.

Thanks for the comments!

Wolf- you are correct. I guess I can scrape that one through because I used the Megaman sprites from the Super Nintendo MMX series, but that's my only excuse

We really do need to work on the reputation of this place. I'm trying, but it is hard under the foot of Fish. But hey, criticize the comic all you want. We'll work on the Shantytown.

Anyway, I looked at the text in those places and can see what you mean, I guess I just wanted to emphasize certain parts, etc. etc. I promise I will do better in the future for sure.

Thank you again for your gracious posting. I appreciate it and hope it makes my comics rawk!

enjoy.

I actually have no idea what you're talking about. I avoided it for personal reasons, not because of anything else. :/ I was actually more interested in the place, simply because Fish seemed like a cool guy.

I have no comments concerning the comic! But I do read. I always read my subscribed threads, so just assume I do so, even if I don't comment!

And, "personal reasons"? Do tell. Did sprite comics touch you as a little child? Now's a great time to get involved in this section, actually.

Also, Goldstud. I love this comic. One of my favorites on the site, but I REALLY don't like it when you post the same comic over again in a new thread. I appreciate the intention, but it's really just spam. UNLESS! You promise to make a NEW comic in this series once you are finished posting the older stuff. Can you do this?

Re: The Big War Going On Inside Your Nintendo Right Now

Yes, I will certainly make a new comic in the series when I get there. But as you can see, nobody but you has read them before. I think it will help to get some momentum again (because this comic basically got ignored the first time around) so I will take your challenge and continue it! Should have the next one up tomorrow.

Not true, I've read them, before I signed up. And so this isn't off-topic- I like Metaknight's personality

He's reached, essentially, the highest point he can graphically. I'm sure there is more he could do/learn to do, etc, but after this point it doesn't make a lick of difference. Graphics aren't what make a comic, sure they can break them if they aren't on a certain level, but a really good story with average graphics is and will always be a thousand times better than a poorly written story with awesome ones.

I'm not entirely certain why I've been avoiding the place. Probably because I haven't seen anything really interesting or unique, though you'll have to forgive me for that comment, seeing as I specifically don't frequent the place A couple of friends of mine though are (were?) really into it. Apparently one of them had his own page at the Spriters Resource? At least until they changed their layout, and the new one sucks

Anyways, waiting on more *twiddlethumbs*

Okay, I agree. Goldstud's comics are pretty much graphical perfection.

I like to think my comics are unique, but that doesn't count for much in sprite comics, where every other comic is a Zelda parody or Sonic crossover.

But what is it specifically you are looking for in sprite comics that would make you read them?

Yeah, I think I liked the old layout better as well. Still, they're the best source for sprites on the internet. They're the first place I go when I'm looking for something.

Again, haven't gotten around a lot. Only threads in the section I've read are this one and the Shanty
Quote:

I'm very picky. Story, story, story, story, story is a must. Comic relief is good, but it shouldn't be the vocal point of the comic. Anyone can do gag stuff, it takes a person with a head to come up with a good story.

No crossovers. I don't like reading it, and I don't like seeing it either.

Of the top of my head, that's all I can think of. I don't really have a lot of preferences, but when I don't like something, I don't like it.

Of course they are. I don't know anyone who doesn't use them, thought admittedly I don't know many people into this. But on the old layout I could browse things based on the images, but now I have to know the name of the game I'm looking for sprites from. :/

STILL WAITING ON MORE FROM YOU STUD.

This is true. You used to be able to say, "I need some Zelda Sprites. Nintendo>Zelda, got it." It's not like someone would say, "Lets see, I need some sprites from games that start with the letter Z. No, T. Wait... legend. L?"

The storyline of my comic at this point is focused on showing you who joins which side of the War, and why. Although most reasons will be either ironic or unfortunate, they should at least be beleivable reasons for each character. Kirby, for instance, will probably join the side that gives him food, whereas Megaman, who has become sort of a hot-headed elitist Vegeta-type character, would find the side that offers him the highest rank/authority. All the same, I think you've found my weak point. Story. Sorry it is your favorite thing, because it is my great struggle. This is like realizing I'm fighting a Pikachu and all I have is a Squirtle. Maybe I can make it up to ya, though, here's a double set: Episode 3 and 4. Episode 3 takes a look at the other side of the war, which is similarly trying to recruit people (Kirby) and episode 4 returns to the original crew of X, Link (who dies ) and Metaknight.

What if it's meant to be a humorous comic? You know, like the stuff you see in the paper?

I mean, I agree with you, in a sense, but the average spriter comicer takes "good story" to mean some type of anime-ish plot involving conspiracies, stoic heroes, and evil organizations. I think some well-written characters and an interesting setting can provide a good story without the need for an intricate plot, don't you?
Quote:

I wouldn't say that. Writing good comedy isn't easy, which is why certain people get paid a lot to do so.
Quote:

Agreed. I mean, there are good crossover comics (this comic is one of them), and there are bad crossover comics. The problem is not that crossovers are inherently bad, it's just there's way too many of them. I always strongly encourage new comicers to drop crossover plots for something more original.
Quote:

That's what it comes down to in the end, doesn't it.

But if you would, you can check out my comic here. I would love to hear your input on the story. One of my few remaining passions in sprite comics is originality, especially as it comes to story and setting.

Mr. Fish, you speak the truth. A lot of people try to create some sort of faux plot by using lots of vague words, like the evil 'organization' and the 'darkness'. Some people think that they are being deep or profound by making something vague and incoherant. AND they always have characters that say 'you're good, but I'm better!' ALL the time.
