Re: Anybody have their own sprite comic?

A couple things.

1. The Fourth Wall

"Breaking the Fourth Wall is the term for when an author appears in the comic, or when the characters know that the world they're in isn't real.

Don't. Break. The Fourth. Wall.

It's very hard to pull off, and doing it poorly is the mark of a bad author.

2. Plot
A strong plot and skillful dialogue is necessary to bypass the limitations inherent in sprite comics. Your comic's plot is very loose in some places, practically non-existent in others.

3. Being Funny
Comics should be (ideally) funny consistently. Your comics have a few moments, but they're rather sporadic. The lack of a coherent plot makes this worse.

Also, repeat after me: Random =/= Funny.

4. Technique
Technique covers general sprite usage, formatting, and spelling. You're doing pretty good in this category, especially with the speech bubbles. Issues you could work on include spelling in general, better speech bubble tails, and not mixing sprite bittages (don't use N64 ones with SNES ones).

The biggest issues with the comic right now are its lack of plot and humour consistency issues. Once you fix those, you should have a pretty good comic.

My webcomic, Link to the Laughs, is available for viewing here on the Shantytown forums. It would be awesome if you could take a look at it and let me know what you think, in return for my review of your comic.
