Re: Sprite help

Well, what do you want to make with sprites? Or do you actually want to make sprites?

Re: Sprite help

Have you ever used the Paint program? Every computer has it.
You open up two sheets: one for your comic or such, other for the sprite sheet. You make sure the background is white, highlight over the selected sprite, copy it.
Open up the other page, paste it there. Make sure it's on transpart.
Do you need pictures on ow to do so? Just ask.

Re: Sprite help

Basically, you copy a spritesheet (right click and all that jazz), then paste it into a graphic program such as MS Paint or PhotoShop. After that, just copy and paste (use the dotted box or the lasso) what you need to make a scene.

Re: Sprite help

If you want to copy ANIMATED sprites, you'll have to "Save Picture As..."

Otherwise, The Spriters Resource is probably the best place for sprites - they have some Shadow sprites there.

Re: Sprite help

Animation won't work unless you have a Video Editing Program. Paint documents are simply that - "paintings". They won't move in that format.

As for transparency, when you select the dotted box tool, you should see two things on the right - the top one has a white box behind some shapes, the bottom does not. Use the bottom one to make the image's white box disappear.

Of course, this is solely for MS Paint.

Re: Sprite help

So if I do that, and if the sprites backround is blue, it will show up as whatever clor the backround is?

Re: Sprite help

I feel so stupid. The eyedrop tube gives me a transparent color when I suck it up and put it on the lower color box? Oh ok. I understand.

Re: Sprite help

Don't feel stupid - we've all been here (or an equivilent).

I was lucky enough to have a (younger) brother that knew everything about the program after experimenting with it for a couple of minutes.
