Re: Title Pending
Lurrre!: Damien killed Gleeok's guards, remember?
Dustfinger: I'm afraid that is in my bag of plot elements, where you can't get to it. If you dare look into my bag of plot elements, I will kill you I'm afraid I won't be updating for about 5 more days, sorry

Re: Title Pending
Bacon Tacos
![]() Short comic made in a short time Lurrre!: That was Damien talking, look at his text colors in other comics. And for those of you who don't know; Thunderbird was the second-to-last boss in TAOL, you fought him before fighting Shadow link, thus, the joke was asking if Damien(who Link fought before Shadow Link/"Dark") Or Gleeok, who he should have fought, would be the "Thunderbird" of the Goron Mines. It's less funny when I explain it One last thing, if you go by views it appears that Title Pending is the second most popular comic on ZU (second to Legend of the 4 M's) (if you go by posts Title Pending is better)

Re: Title Pending
Here's that review you asked for however long ago, if you remember. I apologize for the delay.
Sprites: Grade: B- Minish Cap and ALttP sprites. You can't really go wrong there. Enlargements of the sprites are generally well-executed when they occur, but too often the sprites are rendered smaller than they should be. Take the cuccoo fight for instance. I had to squint and put my fact to the screen to see the sprites correctly. You could have zoomed the background and made the sprites larger. I won't lie: your customs need a lot of work, but thankfully, you don't use them much. However once thing I noticed is the popping eye effect you draw on sprites sometimes. I think it's a hilarious effect, especially in the Oblivion comic, but it is crudely drawn, consisting solely of a basic circle shape and a dot. I think you could spend more time to tweak this effect. Backgrounds: Grade: C- Like I said, you should work on making the backgrounds more dynamic. Try zooming in at times and such. Show us only the parts that are relevant to any given panel. For example, if a panel consists of two character talking in the living room of a house, we don't need to be able to see the kitchen (unless something is going on in there). Zoom in and show only the living room. Also, when you focus on individual characters for a panel, you seem to like to make the background solid gray. Gray is the ugliest color in the world. Try using something less offensive, like black, or try messing around with gradients for an extra flair. Text and Boxes: Grade: C Square color-coded text boxes with a bold standard font. It's safe and readable, but pretty unexciting. You don't have tails on the bubbles, so the only way to know who's talking when it's not obvious is through color-coding. I generally oppose this sort of scheme, but it works out in this particular comic. I'd try breaking your boxes up a little bit. You shouldn't have text boxes take up more than about a quarter of the panel, a third at most. The exception is if you're zooming in on a character for a "monologue" panel, like you did in the third panel of your latest comic, but the fourth panel of the same comic is over halfway filled with ONE speech box. That's not cool. Cut some dialogue or just make more panels. Spelling and Grammar: Grade: C Mmmm, it's readable, which is more than can be said for many comics. There are occasional spelling and grammar errors, much more than there should be, really, but overall it's fairly un-annoying. An average grade. Panels: Grade: B You use a "perfect square" format when formatting the panels, meaning you break a rectangular comic into equal sized panels to work with. It's a pretty unexciting format, but I think it's great especially for beginners because it keeps you from doing stupid stuff with regards to placement. Perhaps you can enlarge your panels as well. Don't forget even if the comic looks large to you, folks running higher resolutions may not see it as clearly. Story/Humor: Grade: B+ This is where I start to appreciate the comic. The humor of the comic feels a bit...juvenile, but it flows pretty well, never getting caught up on stupid jokes or the like. The comic seems to have its own sense of enjoyable humor, which I feel you refine with each new episode. Keep it up. Characters: Grade: A- The best part of the comic. Your characters are very well executed and have matured well throughout the comic. Okay, so the idea of Link as a bumbling hero is quite cliche in sprite comics, but you manage to add some unique flairs. Portraying Zelda as a ditsy girl who thinks her evil uncle is hot struck me as being funny, a little twisted, and pretty original. Also, Mr. Cockers is one of the best characters I've ever seen in sprite comics. He just kicks ass (That scene of his closet? Priceless). Composite Score: B- I was divided on whether to give you an overall C+ instead, but I think your comic is funny and your dedication gives it so much potential. Just work on improving it. Your sense of humor, plot, and characters are pretty solid; simply work on the visual presentation and you could turn a good comic into a great one. |

Re: Title Pending
I see you changed some things in response to my suggestions. It looks much better, and I chuckled at the slow Goron too. This is a great comic, I mean it when I say keep it up.
![]() Another bit of advice: While the comic looks good, the title header is a bit... underwhelming. There's too much space there, for one thing. It's less of a sprite comic issue than it is a graphic design issue, but I would try playing around with pretty fonts and effects to make the title header look better. Remember, it's the first part the reader reads, and it's going to be in every comic, so it's pretty important it looks attractive. |

Just kidding. x3 /e: And there are still old comics that have way more views than any of us. x3 I missed a hole bunch of episodes there, but they don't run away anyway. Awesome nonexistent fight between Link and Link. So, if the King is Caesar, would Zelda be Brutus, um, Bruta? "You too, my daughter?" x3 Ah, and nice style change, the sprites are really more visible now. That reminds me of the goron elder in MM. Dude, when you slowed down time, he hardly moved at all. xD |

The Lost Episode
![]() And by tomorrow I mean now. Anyway, I have Extreme writer's block again, so...Here's a remake of an old comic that I never showed. Oh, and by the wy, I'm going to try to work on a semi-schedule from now on, I'll try to upload a comic every week at most, and if that doesn't work out then I'll post a comic the next week.
