The legend of Zelda:The four Dorks

Hello !
THis is my first comic...I don't have Photoshop or other programs (all hte ones I tried didn't work). Well I hope You like it ! Also, give your opinion please

Another FSA Link comic, eh?

Well...there were some problems with this one.

1. Text is too blurry. DON'T SAVE AS JPEG! Please save as .png. It does wonders!
2. Panel scene always stays the same throughout the comic.
3. "Look for Princess Zelda" LAME. C'mon you can do better than that! Try to do something out of the ordinary. When I started my comic (Zeldish), I had them on an Easter egg hunt instead of all that cliche business.

Since you've just barely started your spriting career, I will share with you some invaluable information that you should take to heart and never forget:

When you go out of your way to be more original, you make things more interesting both for yourself and your readers.

I assign you to read ZELDISH for inspiration. As you read through, you'll notice how better I became with each comic as each time I rose the bar. If you do this too, you're well one your way to becoming a great sprite comic artist!

EDIT: I forgot to mention something that I found quite advanced for someone who is just barely starting their spriting career. The interaction between the sprites was very much out of the ordinary for your average newbie. Great job!

I also suggest that in future episodes, you work on their eyes more. That's where the emotions are.

Good for a first comic. As for the plot, in my experience, you can never tell how the plot will advance until the Links start the actual adventure. After all, Zelda could be in the castle, and have something completely different in mind for the Links to do.

But yeah, definitly .png files. They're much clearer. It almost looks like you shrunk the comic right now.

Sorry, I meant plot starter. WAY too cliche. They could have made it to the castle or whatever in a way more original way than saying "I guess we start looking for the princess."

And one more thing,how do I make some good effeckts ? because your comic Zeldish REALLY inspired me ! I love the effects and everything so please Help.

If you can't affort Photobucket, Gimp is good. It's an image editing program, and it allows you to do all sorts of crazy cool effects. The only thing I'm having trouble with is making a proper blur...

Thanks, but I have try Gimp and it doesnot work in my PC and I don't have enought money to buy Photoshop

Though it was kinda boring I cant tell wether its good or not tell the adventure begins.
Your text is pretty easy to read well for me because I'm not a blind gimp sreaching for every little problem in the Mona Lesa!

Stories usually start off kinda slow - just go with what you have for now, and see where it goes. At this stage, it's about experimenting and seeing what happens (in my opinion).

That doesn't change the fact that he saved the comic in a bad format (JPEG), which made the text blurry.

So, from now on, try .png . ^^

Yeah png is a lot better!
And a good comic has a blend of houmor, action,lemmons, and serouseness in my opinon!

Really? I don't use seriousness unless I need to move the plot forward. Everything else is usually making fun of something or just being silly.

Although, that could just be my particular brand.

Hey guys, can someone tell me how to get Paint.Net ?
Because when I try to Download ia windo appears and says that I need some kind of privillages or something, how do I get those privilleges ?

I assume you're using Windows XP or Vista, correct? Does anyone else use the computer you're using?

You see, in Windows XP or Vista, accounts can be created with different privileges. Generally, there are administrator accounts, which have full privileges, and there's limited accounts, which are not allowed to install programs or mess with system files or settings. I suspect you are running on a limited account. If you are, log into an administrator account (perhaps your Mom's account or something) and install the program. You should be able to run the program on your limited account after that.

speech bubbles > looming black box

proper grammar + spelling > text talk

scene changes > single place

Oh, and most importantly:

If people knew such a thing, they would make their own comic

Nah. I was assigning him to read something that will help him out with inspiration. Zeldish just so happens to be the leading FS sprite comic on ZU. I would have recommended it even if it wasn't me that just so happened to be the author.

I think you misunderstood, Ahuron, he meant on the computer itself; not ZU. Silly...

You showed your comic to your parents? ._.

...well no... they might say some thing like "You are just Wasting your time !!" or something like that...

Just read over what fishy said carefully, you'll understand. unless your computer is different than ours; which is unlikely.
