I wanted some suggestions...

Hi there, it's me. I was wondering if any of you wonderful people out there in internet land, know a good sprite maker to download?

I am somewhat new to the whole thing, and I wanted some input from people who have some experience in this field.

Sprite maker?

I'm sure you can make sprites with just about any editing program, like Paint.

But paint does not have a animator, and I wanted a program that is easy to use.

Well, you should have been more specific then.

What Operating system are you running? You should try Paint Shop Pro 4, it doesn't animate but its great for just making sprites. Then use something like Beneton Movie Gif (if it runs on your computer) to animate.

GoldStud has a point Paint Shop Pro 4 is one of the better and animating well that Programs some wheres else!

Isn't GIMP for animating? I don't have it, so I wouldn't know.

as strange as It may sound, game maker is very powerfull for sprites, animator and all, and it can do recolors! and other really cool stuff. it's sprite editer is quite usefull.
