B.B. Goes from Paper to Computer

Some back ground info:
Big Beans (Aka B.B.) is a character in my comics in real life. He’s a bean as you see.
Everyone one (Ok, so only a lot) of people at my school love my comics and can’t wait for the newest ones!
Big Beans is around 14-16 years old and he’s always getting into trouble by accident.
He can’t go a day at an amusement park with out something blowing up!
Yes I do draw these my self and I’m really, really, awful at drawing on the computer!

There are three types of B.B. comics that I make.
1. Big Beans comics: Just funny comics that evolve only the Big Bean’s characters
2. Big Bean’s and spoofs: This is the type of comics where Big Bean’s usually tell’s a story about the spoof!
3. Spoof: Just a regular spoof. Likely to have B.B. as a character in the script.

Yes most of the B.B.’s characters are food. My friends love it!

I hope you love them too!

Episode 1

Yes Thanks! This is my first time trying to make a comic on the computer. And yes the initials stand for what they are most of the time...

B.B. = Big Beans
C.C. = Cripsy Chicken
Ex.

I suggest you quit while you're ahead.

Did you not read the How To Make A GOOD Sprite Comic Thread?

Your so-called comic seems to get worse.

... A story about a Bean, a chicken wind, Diddy Kong, and Dixie Kong?! I'm confused... Anyways, I suggest you get some real sprites made for the chicken and the bean. Also, KILL DK AND DK! oh, and its very... original... lol

I certainly do, but I care not to share the information as this comic is horrific.

Well... yay! Good job losing B.B. and C.C. I mean, big beans? Nobody cares what happens to a pile of beans.

Remember that speech bubbles are read left to right and top to bottom. Like in panel 3 on comic 2, if you put the Halt! speech bubble on top, it happens first no matter what. You've gotta put the Halt! on bottom if it happens last.

Wow, good backgrounds! A+ for original and clean BG's. No complaints. They are helping your comic more than you can possibly imagine.

Sometimes (like Ganondorf's blast) (which looks really cool) the background color and some colors in the sprite are the same, so they're all transparent when you paste them. This is not tolerable. Don't just go 'oh well' and paste it on there with glaring holes in it, get a new color and fill in around the sprite before you paste it. That way you don't have a glaring hole.

Thank you for using speech bubbles! That's a greatness shared by few. A hint, though, is to type your text in the shape of the bubble. Instead of

Speech bubbles are
circles, not squares.

do this.

Speech
bubbles are
circles, not
squares.

See the difference? Also try and make the bubble after you type the text off to the side, so you can get it the perfect size and shape.

Anyway your humor is good/moderate. The smiley joke is funny. Maybe some close ups will help your delivery.

Anyway I do like it and hope to see more. Yay!

Gannon-banned!

Anyway, the comic is okay storywise/humorwise but it looks like you could use a little practice on the graphics. Keep working at it and I'm sure you can get better. Blizzaga said he'd be reviewing your comic soon, so when he does listen to whatever advice he gives you.

heh, sorry, but no. Oh, and don't get offended by Lost Darkness. He's just doing his whole "NEW SPRITERS SUCKS!" act. I asume you just started spriting, so it's pretty good for a begginer comic.

He has started sprite-comic making, but not spriting itself. I do not see any custom sprites by the author on this comic thus far.

Apparently you know nothing of the fact that I am a retired spriter and my job here is to review comics.

Eh heh. I am hardly going to review this one. You drew crap with the spray tool and you expect me to review it?

You cannot even get the comic the right size, you draw crappy movement effects with lines, actually read the tutorial on the forum before even attempting to make a comic.

Fine! I have one last question for you...

If you think my comic is as crappy as you say...
Why do you keep coming back!

Or a sense of humor.

Let's just... Try some basic things.

- Sprite enlargement... I need to make a standard list on Word someday. 200% is your friend.

- Everybody says 'omg' in real life. We totally do.
...
Don't deny it.

- Ugh.. MS Paint effects. Seriously, lines and spraycan? I really need to make an effects in MS Paint guide someday...

- The sprited effects (Ganondorf's Warlock Punch/Dark Blast/whatever the hell) had see-through white in it. It's clear you need to use a different white to make it not be see-through. How? Easy. Every color in MS Paint works with RGB 'codes'. The 'code' for pure white is:

255
255
255

Instead, change it to...

255
255
254

The white will still appear white, but not see-through.

- You sometimes have these enormous speech bubbles with just a small piece of text in it. Also, bubbles and outlines is a good combination.

- You're using ImageShack. It sucks. PhotoBucket is better, but it resizes when it's bigger than 800x600....

Which, unfortunately, counts for 90% of the Ghetto.

- Remove the text-only panels. They hurt the eye and remove the little bit of humor that was in there.

- No brush over the comic to get a point across (comic 2).

Now you have a slight understanding of why Lost hates your comic.

EDIT: And you have VGCats in your avatar. Well, that was more my reason.
