Brawl: Character Alternate Costume Colors

Who thinks Brawl has a good selection of alternate colors for the characters? Who doesn't? This can be discussed here, and you can even show off your own ideas for colors in SSB4, if you want the characters to return.

Personally, I think the selection is rather nice, but not extremely good. Sonic's colors all look way too similar for example. Mario and Luigi could have had better choices too (Flying Mario/Luigi and Mr. L anyone?). And Ike definitely could have had better choices. He didn't even have this one:



Recolored by me. But anyway, what's the deal with no lord colors here? That's just...ugh. Ike wasn't technically a lord until chapter 18 in FE9, so why the heck doesn't his lord outfit have any representation here? But whatever, Lord Ike ftw.

It also would have been cool if Marth and Ike could have had colors resembling those of other FE lords as well, like those from the GBA games.

Next, I'm going to recolor Luigi to look like Mr. L. xP

Nice thread, all I can think of now is that the color options are NOT enough! We need alternate skins too! Imagine, playing (all the time) as Super Sonic! His moveset would be exactly the same, no extra power, only he looks as if in super form. Or Meta Sonic, even Shadow the hedgehog.

I wanted Toon Link to be able to wear his Outset clothes. Y'know, the lobster pajamas (at least, that's what I call them).

I like green on characters, so I would say a better looking greenf or captain falcon.

Also they should give everyone 8 costumes, not just Wario. It doesn't take too much time to adjust colors and add them as costumes into the game

I don't think they would give him a mask as an alternate costume...

I'm a natural at this I realize. Mr. L and Lord Ike are the only render recolors I've ever done in my life lol.

I think being able to play as Shadow the Hedgehog would be amazing. You're really good at recoloring Lady Ranny. Personally, I think there should be more orange costumes. Correct me if I'm wrong but there aren't really that many orange ones.

Yeah, there aren't many, but that's because there has to be red, blue and green ones for the team matches.

They really needed to add more actual costumes, not different colored skins. Wario got his original outfit as an alternate costume. I would have liked to see Samus's Fusion Suit actually look like the actual fusion suit instead of just having the design, and the same with her dark suit.

I think the alternate colors were just fine. It was nice to see Mario with his fire flower suit, or Toon Link in his Four Swords colors. And Dark Link was also a nice addition. I was very fond of Wario being able to switch between two different costumes though, it would have been nice to see this implemented into the other characters in some way.

I would have liked it better if the skins actually switched to various different forms of the same character. For example, Link might switch between regular, oni, toon, 8-bit and dark link. Maybe with some more thrown in.

Yeah, what would've been even better for Ike is if he could wear his actual lord outfit rather than just the same colors. Or Luigi to actually don Mr. L's costume.

Heck, why not give Mario his forms from SMG too? :3

If we're talking alternate skins, instead of just colors, Mario needs his formal clothes from the Mario All Stars box art.
For recolors they missed out on, I want black and white Dedede and Red Star Mario & Luigi from Galaxy.

I was just talking about this the other day. I'm sure they'll have different outfits in the next SSB. Maybe they could be unlockable somehow. I would love that.

You know how with Princess Peach can turn Daisy's colors- red hair, yellow dress, etc., but she still has long hair (Daisy's hair is shorter) and Peach's voice?

You know how you have Link and Toon Link? do you think they could be made into one character and have the same moves (o wait- they already do) and the same weight? Then you could have different skins so you could have TP Link and WW Link and OoT Young Link and OoT Adult Link and a Classic Link or two, and they would all have their own voices and Toon Link would still explode swirly bombs and and... yeah that would never happen but it would be cool.

And with regular Zelda you could press b down and be Shiek but with Toon Zelda you could press b down and be Tetra and you could have pretty much the same moves as Shiek, except when Shiek hits people Tetra would use her sword.

Hey, why not give Luigi his formal outfit from those games he hosted in...I think it was NSMB? Yeah, he had a white shirt, black vest, and green bow tie, if I remember right.

Mario ought to have regular Mario, Bee Mario, Flying Mario, Fire Mario, Raccoon Mario, and Cape Mario.

Luigi could have: regular Luigi, Fire Luigi, Flying Luigi, Mr. L, Formal Luigi, and Cape Luigi.

Ike could get: Ranger (regular) Ike, Lord Ike, Eliwood Ike, Hector Ike, Sigurd Ike, and Greil Ike. And not necessarily the exact costumes lol, just colors in some cases.

Lastly, Marth would have: regular Marth, Classic Marth, Shadow Dragon Marth, Ephraim Marth, White Marth (c'mon, it makes him look like he's gonna get married. XD), and Roy Marth.

Those are my ideas.
