First Annual "QuickKill" Tournament

Thanks to FD-Oni Link for helping me getting this tournament up and running! The brackets are done! Please look and try to arrange time for matches with your opponent. Have fun no matter what!

What's up everyone.

Welcome to the thread for the 1st Annual QuickKill Tournament. It's called "QuickKill" because the matches are designed to go by fast, with explosive items, and low lives.....think you can handle it? To win you gotta not only attack your opponent, but be wary of items and other obstacles, keep them from using them to their advantage, and use them yourself! It sounds simple but it takes skill.


Without further adieu, here are the rules. (Oh boy, rules!)

Up to 8 people are able to participate, ZU members can enter the tournament on the traditional first post, first serve basis. You will be assigned a number based on the order of entering. Here is the Brawl List so far:
(Before joining, it would be wise to read the rest of the rules to see if you are able to cope or be able to follow along.) The list is completed, wish our contenders luck!

Final Brackets: (note, after the first round there will be a losers mini tourney to compete for the bottom places. Don't ever give up after losing once! Or any other times, but here you sort of have to quit after losing the "loser's tourney" i'm afraid.)

Loser Tourney Entries, (these are those who lost in the previous main tournament, they will compete and the winner will go against the runner up of the main tournament. The winner of that will face the current champ for the 1st place.) you are given a different number here, so pay attention. I will set up the bracket for this as soon as every battle except for the final match of the main tournament is done.

I will also be appointing referees. These people will join the brawls of two contestants, but they will not partake in it whatsoever, and will deplete their lives as soon as the battle starts. Their purpose is to merely survey the Brawls so there are witnesses to victories and losses, and they will post who won and who lost only if the winning or losing contestant haven't done it themselves yet.

I need no more referees, but you can become one if you want. They can also take part in the tournament if they wish, but they don't have to. Referees must only fight in their designated matches if they do want to be in the tournament, and they can't referee while they are fighting.

(Each match doesn't need a referee, but contestants can request them.) If you want for a referee, PM them and ask, they may not be able to but are obliged to do so if they are able.

Gameplay Rules:

Characters: Any, can switch between rounds and matches.
Two issues, You cannot use Zero Suit Samus to start a match, because it would give that player an instant unfair advantage with the suit parts that can be thrown and cause lots of damage. Thanks to FD-Oni Link for helping me discover this.
Stages: Any stage but the large ones, such as New Pork City and Hyrule Temple(Melee) Note: The scrolling stages where the screen moves are still allowed.
Stock: 2 lives, no more and no less.
Number of matches: 7, Best 4 out of 7 matches wins.
Damage Ratio: (pay attention to this, in the rules for setting up the Brawl for whoever starts the room first, make sure the damage ratio is set to 2.0)
Items: Smash Ball, Bomb Ombs, Dragoon Parts, EDIT: I discontinued the use of the hammer, it's far too overpowered even for this tourney. (these are the ONLY items you can use, and you must use all except for the optional one.)
Rounds: Obviously, there will be 4 rounds, with a period of 1 week between each. This one week will allow you to commune with you opponent and/or ask for a referee. If your match is not done or decided by the end of the week, you and your opponent you were supposed to fight will be disqualified. If everyone finishes their match before the week is up, I will move to the next round even though the week hasn't passed.
Reports: Like before, if the referee hasn't reported the match, the players whether it be the loser or winner can. They must report what characters were used, and who won and lost. Please abide by the previous rules when doing a match.

About the QuickKill Tournament: Obviously my intention was to design the matches to go by quickly, but that is hopefully balanced out by the number of matches and rounds. Also, luck is now a factor as to if you are able to get items such as the Smash Ball and use it effectively, but player skill is still a dominating element. Everyone who is able to play SSBB is welcome, and I do encourage you all to enter! Also: Friends that aren't necessarilly on ZU can enter as well, ask me and they will be marked "unknown" next to their brawl code and nickname.

Alright, I did a bit of small updating with the character and reporting rules. Also, Toon Link and FD-Oni Link have the same name on online Brawl, anyway this can be settled unless you can just change the names?

But also that's not why I picked her, I picked her because I knew I could use her down-B to jump over people. But anyway back to the brawl name issue; I'll just change mine to Nate because Toon Flink actually has Toon in his name so I don't want to take that away from him.

I forgot to tell you aura pulse that I won't be able to brawl in the week of June 14th-21st.

In that case, we WILL have to bring it down to 8 as i don't like the idea of about half my roster quiting lol. So now, we need one more member.

Since you only need one more referee also I'll just be one. So now your referee bracket is filled up and you still need one more contender.
