Does anyone here play Brawl+?

I know that many people in Smashboards play Brawl+, but I want to know if it's popular in ZU. I hope it is, though. I just downloaded it today, and I absolutely LOVE it. So far I love it even more than Brawl, and even more than Melee (which was probably my favorite multiplayer game ever).

So, does anyone here play Brawl+?

Could you explain what Brawl+ is? It sounds good, and if it's online then I'd love to look into it.

I suggest you go to Smashboards to research on it. It's pretty much a more competitive version of Brawl with just a bit of Melee feel put into it. I guess it's what you get when you combine Melee with Brawl.

Actually, no, it's not really what happens when you put Melee into Brawl.

It's basically an attempt by the Brawl+ guys to fix Brawl, and make it more competitive. They took out tripping, they added hitstun, they eliminated the dumb infinites, etc.

It's different monster than Brawl, and it's actually more similar to Smash 64 than Melee due to the way hitstun and combos work. However, there is still DI, so it's not as broke as 64 was.

It's not a standard to the competitive scene, so I don't know what makes it more "competitive." :/
I want to try it out, though. Mainly for the texture hacks. If I ever decide to download WiiBrew, it'd be for this.

True, and the fact that there are so many more characters and stages than 64 make it probably the best smash experience I've had. Melee comes close though.

Oh yeah, it won't ever be the competitive standard, but hey; if they can balance out the game why not? They took out tripping, chaingrabs, infinites, and there are combos now, Brawl+ is already better than Brawl is.

I'd play it to get rid of tripping, but that's about as far as my attention goes. I don't really care about the rest of it, that's for the serious gamerz to worry about.

I'm pretty much satisfied with what Brawl is now, so I don't feel compelled to try this out.

Well, I mean, it's free (as long as you already have Brawl). It takes some effort to hack your Wii and install the codes and stuff.

But some of the things in it, I mean, they are real gameplay changes and the game plays differently from Brawl, the changes aren't just things that "serious gamerz worry about."

I mean, unless you like chaingrabs and infinites.

I do not play competitive offline, and online isn't worth hacking for. I have fun with Brawl as it is. I don't need to hack anything.

im too lazy to hack brawl, anyway i have fun with brawl as it is so i dont really need to hack it

I didn't say that the game was exclusively for competitive players, and I even said that there are a million changes that even a non-competitive player would notice (in fact, the game seems to run off an entirely different physics engine).

I don't need to hack anything.

It's not about Brawl being not fun, and it's not about "needing" to hack anything. Brawl+ feels much different from Brawl, and is much less cheap (I love it for the simple fact that I can actually beat a good Ice Climber player when playing as Ganondorf and have fun attempting to win instead of getting an automatic loss).

The only reason why I'd get this would be for competitive purposes, because otherwise it's all the same to me whether characters are balanced or not when I'm just having fun. That's the point of my post, which you seemed to miss. I couldn't care less for whatever changes there are in Brawl+ because I'm not interested in hacking my Wii, and I'm perfectly happy with Brawl as it is (except for the goddamn tripping).

That's fine and dandy, but that's not relevant to me in any way because I'm just not interested. I mean, if I were to play Brawl+ at someone else's place then that would be great, but I just won't get it myself.
