Link in SSB games. Pros/Cons

Link in the SSB games is usually pretty cool. (And I mean regular Link non of this Young Link or Toon Link bull sh...tuff bull shtuff, I said SHTUFF!) He has a cool moveset, always has. It usually consists of bombs, the boomerang, sword slashing, the famous tornedo attack, and more recently arrows. The first game I played on a home console was Super Smash Bros. for the N64. I chose Link because I had played The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening not to long ago. It was a permanet bond. But enough about that. Do you usually play as Link in SSB games? If so what color? What's your favorite move? You know, stuff like that. I'd can't wait to see all your responses!

Re: Link in SSB games. Pros/Cons

I love playing with Link in Brawl, even though he sucks. Blue Link is my favorite color.

I especially like using his boomerang and his Z air (clawshot).

Link is usually the first one I get to know how to use.

Re: Link in SSB games. Pros/Cons

Eh, I used Link quite a bit in Melee since he was the only character I knew anything about that I could use at the time (wasn't interested in Mario or Pikachu). XD

But I dropped him once I unlocked Luigi so...

Brawl? Hardly ever used him. I never use him now.

Re: Link in SSB games. Pros/Cons

Now that all the characters move slower, it is a bit more annoying to play with Link.

But I still play with him all the time, I usually do better for the most part with Link.

Re: Link in SSB games. Pros/Cons

Link sucks in Smash, which is why he's more fun playing with. You're gonna hear it a lot, especially from Link mains, but tearing people apart with Link, utilizing his every move, his every strength, his every technique, is all worth it. Definitely.

In terms of appearance, I more than definitely prefer his Brawl version.

Re: Link in SSB games. Pros/Cons

Yeah I didn't like the look very much in Melee, but they didn't have any new Console Zeldas at that time, so they used the same Link.

TP Link probably looks the coolest

Re: Link in SSB games. Pros/Cons

TP Link DOES look the coolest, but, I rarely use Link in SSB games. He's pretty, you know, average. He doesn't really specialize in anything. He's not speed nore power, (or spam ) he's just, normal.

Re: Link in SSB games. Pros/Cons

I use Link in all of the SSB games, mostly just because I've grown up with the Zelda series..

..for the same reason, I also use the Mario characters alot.

If neither of them, I use the Fire Emblem guys.

This. I don't care how much Link may suck in Smash, or how badly I may suck with him sometimes. I use him because he's my favorite Nintendo character.

See, that's the way I am with Ganondorf.

Although, I am very aware of how excruciatingly limited he is.

I could not imagine playing Link in 64 or Brawl, though. He just does not seem to like recovering.

I dont think TP Link looks the coolest at all. His clothes style and design in TP does, but he's too thin.
His body should'ave looked more muscular and strong like Adult Link in OOT.

Back to topic, I like Melee Link better than Brawl link because it seemed that Melee Link was easier to use, i dont know why, but i just have this feeling. Its not because the Wii has a different remote than the Gamecube, Ive used the Gamecube controller in both games.

It's because Brawl Link is so wildly handicapped in comparison to Melee Link.
