This a thread for listing the main weaknesses of characters basically the main flaws you have seen in characters elaborate if you say slow or light or things like that.

If Brawl: For most characters, just pick Metaknight.

If you learn to play MK you'll play pretty well against pretty much every character, as long as you learn the match-up.

Ok here's a tip for Pikachu vs you playing as Fox. DON'T GET GRABBED.

Ranil - Taunt!

How to beat most Yoshis: Pick Lucario. Get a huge reputation about being a combo machine, but in fact, you just spam aura spheres.
Fox: Use your speed and play gay as hell with shorthopped aerials - if she gets in a single down smash, you'll be infinited to death and your game is ruined.

I main Ike, so I can help you there.

Either keep your distance or stay very close to him because Ike has close range superior to that of most other characters. If you're close enough to him, but faster, you'll hit him first because he's slow. And if your character has projectiles, use them! XD

Lucas and Ness - the evil online lagg

Pick stages like Pirate Ship so online you won't suicide on accident.

Stay away from edges when you play against any character that can gimp, hug the middle of the Stage.

Ike - Get a feel for dodging with a character.
Meta Knight - Use your shield when he uses Mach Tornado, though you'll most likely still get hit. Other than that, dodge until you get an opening, and use a fast attack.

Lucas and Ness - Pick Marth, and grab them and just pummel them. Don't throw them, just let them escape. Then when they escape, do a dashing grab and grab them again, and continue pummeling them. Repeat several times, and then finish with a forward smash.

Then, when they are recovering, jump into Ness' PK Thunder, or simply swipe at Lucas with a forward aerial.

Marth: Don't use fsmashes at all unless you're very sure that you can tip or you're doing a combo (like the grab-fsmash combo). Dancing blade is your friend, punish with it instead of, say, dsmash. Running to shield to dancing blade is also nice. Never be above your opponent. Remember that you can footstool-dair the majority of the cast. Use your pivot grab as much as possible - the range is absolutely sick. Dancing blade up combo kills at early 100%'s if fresh and is therefore underrated.

Autocancel your fairs, too. And never underestimate simply walking. Marth's ftilt is great are if you're always running you limit your options.

Peach- Spam turnips, use lots of aerials, never play against Meta Knight.

Snake- Spam all projectiles, use tilts a lot.

Samus- Spam missiles, zairs, bombs, beams, and screw attack.

Congratulations, you can now play Brawl.

I'd also recommend... I think it's called foxtrotting, by holding the control stick fully without dashing. You can do any smashes and tilts out of it.

Also, Marth's tilts are ridiculous. His uptilt has incredible range and his dtilt is a great poker.

Marth also loves when his enemy is above him as much as he hates when the enemy is below him - basically he just needs to juggle them with uptilts, upsmashes, upairs, and maybe even well-timed dsmashes and fairs.

Also, double fair shorthop is <3 but try mixing it up with shff'd single fairs, sh fair doublejump double fair, etc... don't get predictable.
