Brawl Characters

Basically, this thread is about which Brawl characters you main or use, which are your favorites, etc. I haven't seen any threads like this in such a long time anyway, so I thought I'd make one.

So, let's talk about the characters we use and favor! ^^

As for me...

Favorite: Ike
Main(s): Ike, Luigi
Secondary(ies): Marth, Toon Link

Ike's the best to me, mostly because of Great Aether. Damn is that move awesome. See it in slow motion to know what I'm talking about. Oh yeah, we can also say which characters we suck against too lol.

I suck against Zelda, G&W, Snake, and to some extent, Wolf.

Main: Peach
Seconds: Changes from time to time, currently Snake.

I can blame Verxis for getting me into Peach. She's a lot of fun to play, and she's pretty easy to pick up. Her float combos and turnips are pretty useful, and she has a lot of balanced matchups.

I'm trying to get better at Snake to handle my difficult matchups. I'm still improving, and I hope to show him off online when I get my connection running again.

I am in man-love with Ganondorf, and when Melee came out, I played him, in spite of being a Captain Falcon clone, and I still play him in Brawl, in spite of him sucking. Any game that he is playable, I will always play as Ganondorf as my first character.

Otherwise, I always choose heavy, slower characters, since I have horrible reflexes. Ike is an obvious choice, even though he sucks, too. Bowser isn't that slow in Brawl, but he is still a strong-slow type. Wolf is about as high as I will go as far as speed goes, but I'm not amazing with him. I use Snake for kicks, since I like him.

I'd like to work on using Pokemon Trainer, but I don't have Brawl.

The biggest thorn in my side when I'm playing Ganondorf are Lucarios and Falcos. I can usually go even with most Falcos with my Wolf, though. Lucarios are a big problem; one of my closest friends and the guy who actually owns the copy of Brawl that I play uses Lucario, but his Lucario sucks. I've fought a couple of good Lucarios, and I hate fighting them as Ganon or Ike.

Diddys are also lethal to my playstyle. I have never beaten a good Diddy.

I haven't played any matches with ZU members for ages now. Mostly because I hate WiFi.

Nowadays I main Olimar, and I second Pikachu, DK and Ike.
I can play many of the other characters since I spent so much time looking for a main that I really enjoy, but I stick to those 4 generally.
I am currently trying out Cpt. Falcon, despite his obvious flaws. He's too manly to ignore.

I use Yoshi 95% of the time. I feel extremely comfortable with him, I love his speed, and I just adore his floatiness. His shield bugs me, but I try to find ways around that.

The other 5% of the time, I'll use either Link, Lucas, or Lucario. (all starting with L O_o)

I haven't brawled much any more. After I had Kadree I just stopped caring.

I used to main Wolf. I still play for fun against friends.

My primary mains are Link and Falco. I will tend to lean more towards Link about 75% of the time though. Falco I know him well too, but I feel more comftorable(sp.) with link.

My secondary is Sonic. I just started using this blue ball recently and I'm starting to get the handle with him. I like his nasty combos.

I use a lot of the cast just messing around--if I'm playing online or just screwing around I'll use a random character like Falco or Pokemon Trainer.

Lucario and Marth are the only characters I main, per ce, but I'm fairly good with Fox and Olimar too.

You should see some of the amazing stuff people do with him. I've seen vids of some of the best Ike players I've ever seen and I learned from them. I've defeated Meta Knights and other higher tier characters with him as a result (unless the player is just plain so much better).

Also, I see you said you don't have Brawl. If you haven't played it, then you've never played Ike. Don't judge him yet. >_>

I HAVE seen videos of what the best Ike players do, but it doesn't change the fact that his attacks move like molasses, and is one of the few characters that actually has bad recovery. Almost any character has a chance of beating Ike if they play patiently enough. The only character who Ike seems to have a good matchup against would be Ganondorf. Every other character can spam projectiles at him, or just hold a shield button while he's doing his three-hit jab and interrupt it then use anything else because Ike can't counter attack.

Also, it doesn't matter if you've beaten high tier characters, the players behind those high tier characters could not be that great.

Just because I don't have Brawl doesn't mean I haven't played it. When Brawl first came out, I played the crap out of it for about 2 days a week at my friend's place at my college for 4 hours straight, with a bunch of other people.

In the summer, I would go to my best friend's house nearly everyday and we would play Brawl for at least a good 2 hours.

I went to E For All and fought against about 20 other people from all around Los Angeles. Unfortunately, we had to play with just Wii motes, and most of us were only familiar with the GameCube controller

I main Zelda and Peach. I actually started off trying to play Sheik since I mained him in Melee, but she sucks now. So, I ended up playing as Zelda who is a BEAST! I also forced myself to play Peach... she was godly in Melee, but is much different in Brawl. Still, she's freakin' adorable and wears pink.... so I gotta play her. <3

My fiance mains Ike. He's spectacular with Ike. Plays hims like nobody else. It's AWESOME. But Ike is such a cheap character. DX He also plays the Pokemon Trainer pretty well... I really like the PKMN Trainer, but never really got into it.

I also really like Pit. Kid Icarus was an awesome game, and I hope they'll introduce a new one since Pit has made his debut. They did it for Samus, so why not Pit? I'm also loving Snake. He's hilarious to play, and he can be pretty hard to KO.

The character doesn't suck in regards to the game and how epic he looks, but playing him online especially... yah he's not that great. But, he is middle tier somewhere. So he's not incredibly horrible.

Ike is the bomb if you know how to use him. You know his side B move can shoot him all the way across final destination. Also, yes, Ike is slow, and you may not get in very many hits with him, but when you do, the power makes up for the lack of quantity.

Seriously Ranil, if this is turning into one of those "Ike is my favourite, he's the best" threads, then you're in for a decent kick in the balls.

but yeah. toon link, pit, and regular link. kirby too, but the more I'm learning how to actually play the game, the less I use him. I used to just float above everyone's reach and then DEATH FROM ABOVE! ...it wasn't a very good plan XD
I'm kinda learning the pokemon trainer - ivysaur and charizard, at least. squirtle's hard to manage. ...ROB's fun too.

I hate jigglypuff (I was decent with him in melee, but they changed him up too much), ganondorf (soooo SLOW), fox, falco and wolf (have no idea how to play these), peach (most useless final smash unless you use it *just right*) (though I play as her anyway XD), ness and lucas (mostly these two are just annoying), and yoshi (do I need to say anything...? either you kick everyone's ass with him or you have no idea what to do with him - for me it's the latter XD)

I don't think I main anyone.. I just play whoever I like playing as, and that would be:

1) Random
2) Ike
3) Snake
4) Lucas
5) Ness
6) Marth
7) Falco
8) Gonondorf
9) Metaknight
10) Sheik

I don't really suck against any characters in general... Just certain people.

And the person that I have most trouble against is my brother (Lord Golbez), because he sticks with 2 people and probably beats me like 60% of the time.

In terms of the tier list, no he doesn't. In personal taste, I respect your opinion. Ike is mid tier, though, so he can't suck. The sucky characters are all low/bottom tier.

Tiers mean nothing... I suck so bad with DeDeDe that it makes him look like a G Tier :O

I meant Ike doesn't suck IN TERMS of the tier list. Not he doesn't suck in general because of it. I think he's good (but not great/awesome) in terms of the tier list, but in general, I think he pwns. Get my meaning?

Luigi also rockz. I love Green Missile, Fire Jump Punch, Luigi Cyclone, and Negative Zone, plus his aerials are wicked. x3

Say, I haven't brawled you in a while... I will try and get my Wii to connect to internet if your available
