Those stats are completely useless in ranking characters based on how good they are. If speed alone meant anything, Sonic would be top tier. If power alone meant anything, Ganondorf would be top tier. And there are things you cannot rank in your way such as character-specific ATs. Ranking characters' individual stats would be useful in, say, Pokemon, because every stat matters there on an individual basis, but not in Smash. In Smash the only way to rank characters is by combining everything they have and proving it against other characters. Character matchups. Tournament performance. Which is what this tier list is.

I'm well awear that it is based on all of that, but his good match up against MK would definately have had an influence.

Wow. I'm on Smashboards like 10x more than ZU and I've never seen this. People are idiots, sure, but there's no tier bashing. Also l2playpeopleinreallife.

I've seen it. It ain't pretty. Although I don't visit Smashboards that often anymore.

Also, I have plenty of "RL" matches. Mates, brother, tournies every now and then.
Alot of decent competition for me to play against offline.

I used to play online, but I got over it. Can't deal with the lag.

It isn't like any of this applies to ZU anyway. This is for the highest level of the meta game. Which I doubt any of the people on ZU are even close to in skill.

Insizor - AFAIK Diddy's matchup against Meta Knight is even, but last time I looked into it wasn't recent. But yeah, of course his matchup with Meta Knight affects it. I was just making the point that it doesn't affect it any more than his matchups with other characters.

Also the l2playpeopleinreallife thing was just my way of saying "I mainly meant people IRL I know don't tier *****" (competitive smashers). I didn't actually think you didn't play people IRL. xD

But yeah I am sure there ARE people like that, just not enough to be generalising it and saying tier lists cause it or all competitive players do it. :/



Madness - I can think of a couple of people other than myself on ZU who actively play Smash competitively (RL tourneys and hardcore smash meets, stuff like that, not just entering the online tourneys of their favourite Nintendo site); it applies to those people. And it's good to know even if it doesn't apply to you.

No one I know IRL tier bashes either, but I have seen the idiots who do online. But meh, they can ***** about whatever they want.

I won't be playing much smash this year anyway, year 12 = study. (well, maybe some smash )
