Nobody likes Ganondorf, for obvious reasons.

Meh I may still main Ganondorf just to give myself a challenge. =P I like challenging myself.

Re: Japanese Brawl Tier List

I expected no less from Metaknight and Snake (duh).

Dedede should be higher, and the same goes for Game & Watch.

I feel that they assume too little of Wario as well.

Why does Charizard get his own special slot away from the other two pokemon?

And also:

Re: Japanese Brawl Tier List

Japanese players don't play to win, they play for show.

Example. It looks like these guys are ****ing amazing, but if you notice they both rarely use their shields at all, and shields are possibly more important than attacks.

Explains why Dedede is so low, his style is Chain-Grabbing and Back airing off the stage

Re: Japanese Brawl Tier List

When you play like that, you don't need to shield. They both barely stayed on the ground long enough for it to matter. I need to play like that Fawks. Mmm, I can taste the Melee.

Throws are why d3 is so good.

throws.

Bair.

Side b.

All you need to know with d3 for the most part.

It's hilarious that they seem to think that Zamus is better.

btw, golbez, where did you find this list?

That match was great. I laughed at the consecutively successful N-airs on Fox's part. That move is easily shield thrown.

Hehe. Well, you have to remember that the Japanese play with a single character in their tournies, so there's a tendency for players to learn only ONE character; therefore, the metagame evolves differently for them as it does for us. What makes sense to you might not make sense (or even apply) in Japanese Smash.

That said, you guys may be right for all I know. I don't generally make a point of keeping up with the metagame, instead focusing on my characters only, so I don't generally know how accurate tier lists are; I just trust that those making them know what they're doing.

However, it's something to think about.

Someone posted in on Smashboards. No one said it was wrong so I posted it here.

Japanese Fox vids and tier list! - Smash World Forums

Japanese players are way more aggressive and flashy than we are. Characters that take more patience (Ganondorf, Bowser, Samus) and spacing (Peach) to use aren't favored in Japan. This is why Sheik and Fox rank so highly over there. American are way more campy, so we view the list differently.

Character's like Peach are easily high tier IMO, and Ganondorf is also better than we give him credit for.

Re: Japanese Brawl Tier List

We're campy because brawl is campy. I've watched Japanese videos, they really don't do anything spectacular with any of those characters that I haven't seen stateside.

Re: Japanese Brawl Tier List

I've noticed more players on ZU using Yoshi, and those people are quite good with him (Shadow Seeker, xlr8, and Verxis just to name a few). In fact they seem better with him than with other characters, which is why it's surprising to me that he's not higher up.

Re: Japanese Brawl Tier List

I'm guessing that some people in some countries play very differently then us, and thus the list is very... different?

Where did you get this list anyway?
Edit: Nevermind.

Based on if they do actually play for show more, it would make sense that Ganon's at the bottom. He's not the kinda guy you use to make a flashy fight; he's the guy you look for three or four single hits with and get the KO.

I hear he's moving up in the tiers for America, though, which makes me happy. I still love using him.
