Ganondorf has one of (if not, the best) the best meteor smashes in the game though. He kills snake for free with it. Ike's recovery aint bad. As previously said, his recovery is too linear.

Here's something to think about; every character in brawl can make it back to the platform consistently (Except link) So who has good recovery isn't defined by who can make it back anymore. It's defined by who can make it back SAFELY. Because of quick draw, Ike can do that.

Well, on FD my chances will be higher, due to Lucario's ledge tricks and AS. :> On any other stage the formulae will still spell victory, but whomever the Ike is would have a better chance. :3

Also vacuum effects really mess up anybody with a linear recovery.

Last I checked, only one character has those two moves. Unless you've discovered some secret that no else knows about Brawl. Keep trying to make Ike look bad, it's funny.

Mario's just a good example of gimping. Plenty of characters can gimp Ike easier than others.

Peach: Turnip, Floating Fair
Bowser: Fair, Bair
DK: Bair, spikes
Ganon: Reverse Uair, Dair, Grounded Wizard Kick
Sheik: Fair, Bair
R.O.B.: Fair, Lasers, Gyro

The list is longer, but Ike is really easy to gimp. Knocking Ike too far to Up-B and too low side-b is easy for characters with decent edge guarding tools.

I find it funny that you can't except your character's big weaknesses. I accepted that my main, Samus, is not that good, so learn that your character is bad and deal with it. Gimpyfish did that with Melee Bowser, and that's how he got really good.

Funny thing is, they can't do a damn thing should he pull off Aether in time, as for the most part he's immovable once he pulls it off. And, as Tigerboi's vid showed, it's more than capable of doing a bit of a meteor smash.

But the main thing I was referring to before was basic edge-guarding as opposed to gimping. Which, Aether destroys.

I'll accept that my character is "bad" when he loses his glaring advantages, or drops to the very bottom of the tier list. I mean, if you think Ike is a genuinely bad character, you haven't played with too many guys on the roster or you just aren't very good with him.

And I'm pretty sure I accepted my characters big weaknesses when I argued against Ranil's praising of him. Or when I specifically said he's mid-tier material. Or criticized his bad lag. Read more.

Ike's not "bad," Jeff, just has a lot of flaws. Also, one thing not stated, Tether recoveries can edgeguard Ike.

I've never said he wasn't without plenty of flaws. I'm merely arguing against the stupid idea that he's a bad character without any great attributes. For some reason, there's mostly criticism of Ike while members blatantly ignore his good qualities. I know why this is, but it's still dumb.

I agree, Jeff. I also don't like it when people say Ike is cheap. He can't be cheap when he's freaking low-mid tier and difficult to master.

Who said he is bad? Also, a good quality, dtilt meteors unsweetspotted recoveries.
