Because no one in the world wants to use him in the higher levels. He's a surprise character that may win sometimes, but when you figure him out he sucks.

Myeah, 'cause players on an almost completely unrelated forum who don't play Smash competitively and just happen to be better than others on said forum with a certain character (online, no less) really affects the competitive community's official tier list, amirite guise?!?!/1/?!/??!

Which list are you talking about. If you are talking about the list(s) over here, then you are talking about a list that is based heavily on tournament performances. Combine Yoshi's relatively small competitive appearance with his lack of any major wins, then it should be pretty obvious.

If you are talking about that Japanese list, then there's still room for whatever and whatever. If it's true that the ranking is based on some flashiness factor, then I think that Luigi and Squirtle should be higher than Charizard.

Yoshi is a counter-picked character at best.

He does well in alot of matches. (he does surprisingly well vs. MK) but he just get's beaten too badly by some characters.

A friend of mine uses yoshi in tournaments. The only time he's been able to beat a good marth is by running the clock out.

I could be off, but it seems that Yoshi has a lot of attacks that either come out fast, have high priority, or both. In theory, all it takes is decent spacing or movies with higher speed and/or priority.

At least, that what it seems like whenever I have played Yoshi's.

Yoshi is spacing himself at times. I find him similiar to G&W, except for the knockback, both to yay and nay.

Yoshi, as previously said, does great against some characters. The problem is that most of those characters aren't very popular (bar Meta Knight of course ^.^)

Japanese people play very flashy and way too aggressive. They look very vulnerable, but they don't notice that because they just want to land the flashy hit. That's what I thought when I saw some videos.

It saddens me to see Peach so low, that's probably because when played in a "flashy" fashion, she is very bad. They are stuck with Melee Peach.

Also, look at Donkey Kong! Unbelievable...

Ike and Luigi should definitely be higher. Both of them are beast in the right hands, though I will admit Ike is rather difficult to be really good with due to his being slow and all. However both him and Luigi should be at least C or B.

Ike involves timing while Luigi mainly involves aerials, Green Missile, and Fire Jump Punching, though fireballs are good counters for some attacks, such as Ike's Quick Draw.

That is not what tiers are based on, Ranil.

Also, Ike and Luigi are never going to be high tier on ANY list. It's ok to accept it.

Tigerboi: Ike, maybe not, but Luigi I think can be high tier.

And Ike defiantly isn't underused. in the first few months people thought Ike was "ZOMG" but people started figuring him out.

Ike is a great counter character. but he just gets beaten really bad by alot of characters.

They don't have much potential. You're basing your opinion on how good you think they can be based on how you play--sorry to be blunt, but you have little to know knowledge of top level Smash, so you're just scaling up from the opponents you've played.

Anyway, Lucario's spot makes me giggle, taking into account what Azen has done with him in the States xP

For the record, nobody agrees that Ike is BAD. He's just not that great.

Like I said, Ike probably can't make high tier, but I think Luigi can.

Ike was done all wrong for this game, save the Aether and Quick Draw. Standard B really should have been Ragnell's shockwaves for example. That would have made a significant difference.

I don't think so, no one uses him in tourneys.

Doesn't mean people can't start using him.
