It's mostly people who want to do it for fun, not so they can brag. And yes, you can make a lot of money if you are good.

Yes, but he's right. A skilled player playing a low tier character can beat a person with hardly any skill playing a high tier character. Tiers don't save you.

I don't read 500 pages. Sorry... but skimming through pages is the new black.

The player does matter more. but the characters placing on the list does matter. Characters that have more weaknesses naturally have to work harder to win. But no character is a win or lose button. And buzz, seriously, you can't prove a point by playing someone in match.

It's a probability thing, really. Just like a person with a metal baseball bat is more likely to beat a person with a wooden stick, even though that dude with the wooden stick could still wreck the other guy if he's skilled enough.

Yes, and let's not forget that Tier Lists assume that each character is played by an equally-skilled player, which means that Player X using Low Tier Character X beating Player Y using High Tier Character Y, on an individual basis, means absolutely nothing in terms of a character's position on a tier list. If Low Tier User X is better than High Tier User Y, he will win, period.
