Super Smash Bros. Brawl Online Team Tournament

This idea seemed to have positive feedback in the official Brawl thread, so why not have one of these?

This is a Team Tournament, which means it'll be 2 vs 2 in each match. If you want to be part of this tourney, you'll need to find a partner. You can PM amongst yourselves to find one.

Here are the rules:
-All matches will be three stocks, and no time limit.
-All matches will be best of 3, but the finals will be best of 5.
-ALL items must be turned off. No exceptions
-Friendly Fire is OFF
-Only four different stages will be allowed. These stages are Battlefield, Final Destination, Yoshi's Island, and Lylat Cruise. The stage Smashville is a bit too small to hold four people. I would allow counterpick stages, but since there is absolutely no communication during or between matches, it would be best to just allow neutral ones.
-You DO NOT have to be the same character for every match. You can use a different character for every match, or be the same for all of them
-No people from Aussie land. Lag is too much to bear.
-Only prize is bragging rights.

I will create a bracket when I find out how many teams wish to participate. When the bracket is created, I encourage you to have a few friendly matches before the real deal, to test your connection with your opponents. If your connection with your opponents is very laggy, I'll see if I can get some people to switch around.

Just remember TMS that Ed is ten hours behind me in terms of time zones.

Hey, does your brawl partner have to be here from ZU?? Cuz I have a friend who wants to be in this brawl tourny w/ me but he isn't a registered member here...

Nope, if it's midnight where I am, it's 2 PM where he is. Ten hour difference.

Although we both suggest that it should just be an US-only tournament, and let the foreigners have their own tourneys.

Regardless of bracket changes, we'll have to deal with people half the world away regardless, so. And timezones are quite finicky too.

I disagree. Making it US only isn't fair to foreigners. Where a person's from shouldn't matter when playing Brawl. Besides, I'm looking forward to being Team Ike with Ed.

Some Europeaners have good connections that don't have much lag. I have little to no lag when fighting Qnez, and he's from Europe.

However, I do think it would be best if the Europe players began their own tournament.

It's not the Europeans I'm worried about, it's mostly the Australians and New Zealanders. And like I said, timezones must be taken into account. I'm not awake when most Australians are.

Well, you're not Ed's partner, are you? I am. And I'm awake when he is. Besides, I have no lag in matches with him.

"Down Under" = Slang term for "Australia"

Seriously? I thought he was European. Well maybe if he connects well enough with the other participants he can be in.
