Re: Theory as to why SSBB was boring after SSE
I actually bought Melee including save data, so I had everyone unlocked from the get go. I like it best that way.
Unlockable modes/levels alright. But I don't want to play for days just so I can pick Tlink, or hell, Sonic even. So I loooved SSE, because it gave me all the characters in an hour or two. Ofcourse they should have added more unlockable levels/stages, but thats kinda off topic. |

Re: Theory as to why SSBB was boring after SSE
If you are looking for the subjective aura of "fun", why are you playing online against a faceless opponent who knows nothing of your unwritten rules?
I am mystified by anyone who seeks "fun" by playing online. Playing for fun only really works when you have friends over to laugh with about everything that happens. Online, your only real choice is to just win. :-/ |

I don't know about you, but I actually have fun playing smash alone, and CPU tend to bore me sometimes. When people actually play decent(no taunt spamming, or spamming in general) I actually have fun. If not, I would have stopped playing smash ages ago.

Re: Theory as to why SSBB was boring after SSE
That's fine... but then why do you become upset at the idea of someone somewhere out there playing a way you disapprove of? He never agreed to play to your liking. I'm just sayin'...

Re: Theory as to why SSBB was boring after SSE
I don't get upset really, when I play online and I do not have fun because someone is spamming the crap out of me, I simply leave the match.

Re: Theory as to why SSBB was boring after SSE
So you go shopping? You just cherry pick the positive experiences and quit when things don't go your way? Has it possibly occurred to you that people don't like it when players quit? I know that always bothered me in Mario Strikers Charged.

Re: Theory as to why SSBB was boring after SSE
Sorry, but I game for fun, If my opponent is gonna spam, I don't really care for the match anymore. Besides, I'll be getting replaced by a CPU anyway.

Re: Theory as to why SSBB was boring after SSE
As every single character from brawl makes an appearance on SSE... It would be nescessary to unlock them... considering that they were already spoiled to the player...
And that's correct... after unlocking all charatcers... there's not anything much interesting to do, other than playing multiplayer battles... or training your skills in pratice mode...

And why exactly did tabuu want to kill everyone?
i didn't like SSE at all, save for the cutscenes. It was fun to see all the characters interacting with each other, but SSE was just a incomplete game with in a incomplete game. It wasn't that fun to began with, I want a fighting game, not a adventure, if they wanted to make a adventure game why not just make it a different game? I'm sure others would by it, but it was just to half *** in everything it did. It was fun after the first couple of levels, but it got repetitive fast, and the maze was over kill. They really should have just focused on making the fighting better.

I'm glad as more modern games come out, they implement penalties against players who quit out all the time. |

That said, I think there's a big problem with online play: it develops its own "unwritten rules" and these are only compatible with a niche who is willing to play by those rules. As a result all most players get out of online play is distance play with friends. (And people wonder why Nintendo has friend codes?) Quote:
