*Read Before Requesting!*

All the signature shops here should from now onwards be working under these rules.

• Be courteous and patient. These people have their own lives to attend to, and they're using their time to do this for you. Speak politely within the shops, please.
• ALWAYS give credit to the maker unless they specifically state otherwise. It's very disrespectful to do otherwise.
• Request at one shop at a time. If I see anyone requesting at multiple shops, with the exact same request then the request will be deleted.
• Keep the signature and/or avy for a decent amount of time, please. Don't ask for a new one after a few days. This is common courtesy.
• Follow the requesting guidelines listed below.
  
• Keep chit chat in the shops to an absolute bare minimum.

Requesting Guidelines

Text: Self explanitory, basically any text you want on the signature. If you ask for none, most signature makers will only put on your screen name.
Font: If you want a specific style of font, request so. Names of fonts is also very nice, in case we need to download it.
Pictures: Please supply good quality pictures of a decent size to work with. Don't supply too many images, and try to keep things realistic.
Colours: If you want a specific colour scheme (IE: Black and White, Gold and Blue) then request so. If not the sig maker will do as they see fit with the supplied content.
Border Type: What sort of a border? Animated? Plain? Doubled? None?
Border Colour: Colour of the border, if you don't supply this then I myself will usually just use one that works with the theme.
Size: Please supply a size. The maximum size is 400x150 pixels.
Banner Style: If you want a specific theme (Dark, dreamy, forest) then request so.
Animated Effects: If the sig maker does animations, request any animated effects you would like (Blinking text etc.)

Please use these headings when requesting. If you do not have any specifications for an area, leave it blank. All requests should be set out like this:

Text:
Font:
Pictures:
Colours:
Border Type:
Border Colour:
Size:
Banner Style:
Animated Effects:

If someone doesn't fill all this stuff out do we not make them the sig? [someone] requested in my shop and didn't fill all that out. Acully no one did! :eek:

As long as they give sufficient information it's okay. However if people DO start using these given guidelines, things would be a bit easier. I highly doubt many will use them though.

Merc, you'll have to edit that...the new rules for banners says that is not to be bigger than 350x200 pixels...just to let ya know

I don't get the whole guidlines thing. I mean, it's fun without having to check every detail of what you want your sig to be like. The guidlines just kinda confuse things.
But maybe that's just me. I dunno...

Well, most of the time, a sig that you make yourself ends up looking better because it's what you want. If we create one for you, then we don't know what your vision of a "perfect" signature is, thus upping the chances that you won't like the style, colour, etc. This way, you can be as specific as possible, so you get something that is closer to being your creation rather than the shop owner's. For example, just take the siggy I recently made for Peefy. He requested, and I made, but it wasn't exactly what he was expecting. There's why you need to be specific.

Of course, if you want something completely random, then that's fine as well.

Eh, you don't make your own thread for requesting, rather, you request at one of the signature shops around here. Generally you'll want to go and look at peoples' work and choose a person who you'd like best (as requesting at multiple shops at the same time is considered disrespectful).

I think it would be really cool if someone would tell me HOW to use a sig..i dont know how. I figured out the avatar thing really well..but..

You'll need an image host such as www.photobucket.com to upload your images to. Once you've done that, you'll need to put the URL of the image in between some [img] tags in your signature.

Two questions:
1) If I ask for a random sig, do I have to supply the images to use?
2) Does it cost money?

1) Some sigg shops like that, and some will provide themself, if you say what sort of pictures you want. Check in the first post in any sigg shope.

how many lines can your sig be? a few days ago i had to edit mine because it was 11 lines, but wheni counted, it was only 9? (now its only6... I think, unless the pic. counts as lines)

You ask a mod, or simply announce the closure, in the shop.

sam, request in a sig shop. This is just guidelines for how you are to make your request. It's not a sig shop.
