He is also separate.
The trinity is rather nonsensical, to be honest, and it certainly isn't that cut-and-dried. Quote:

Again, Jewish and Christian interpretation here tends to vary. I've heard Jewish scholars point out that God may have fully intended us to eat the fruit (what was the point, otherwise?) since it would make us closer to him. Being thrown out of Eden being more metaphor than punishment. Most Christians seem to disagree. Quote:

Re: Heaven: Eternal Bliss?
Heaven is the sickest way to undermine the beauties of life, invented by people who aren't satisfied with what the world already has to offer.
People need to stop craving immortality. Instead of living your life in anticipation of something greater, make the best of the bit of life you do have here.

I figure I should high-tail it out of here before I say something that isn't true, in order to prove a point. God would be highly displeased if I wasn't telling the TRUTH about Him, so I'm going for now. (: |

Re: Heaven: Eternal Bliss?
Heaven must have plenty to do, just because its heaven doesn't mean it will take the challenge or reward out of things, like growing crops or mountain climbing (if such things exists in heaven that is).
It just means your loved ones wont die or get seriously messed up if they do fall off said mountain. And if it is like that, than people can play real versions of Halo, when you die you just respawn so its awesome, instead of sad. That would be so cool. |

Re: Heaven: Eternal Bliss?
I agree that ignorance is bliss, as well. The more I learn about the world around me, the more it weakens me. Although I would have once laughed at this, now I truly understand why not knowing is better than knowing. Or perhaps one can be considered truly wise when one can bare the burdens of knowledge and not let it weaken him. I don't think that I will fade into non-existence once I die. I don't know what comes next, and I don't believe in many interpretations of the so-called "after-life." However, I don't believe that after a life of earthly "suffering" it would be fair to have all the good from life erased, and to be filled with ignorance. I don't believe that I will ever be certain of what heaven, or whatever is to come, will be like, but I don't believe that bliss after life can be ignorance. It just doesn't seem fair.

Re: Heaven: Eternal Bliss?
How about bliss being the complete opposite of ignorance, huh? When we know enough for suffering to end?
Oh, but no one ever thinks of that.

Re: Heaven: Eternal Bliss?
Regarding "ignorance is bliss", consider the following: ignorance is bliss, but bliss is not necessarily ignorance. It is not necessarily true that one needs to be ignorant to be blissful.
