Eleven year old boy who shot himself

What are your thoughts on the eleven year old boy who shot himself some time ago because of bullying? His mother was on Ellen yesterday(i know because my mom watched it) I think its sad that he thought that he had no other choice but to shoot himself.

He did have a choice - not shooting himself.

He thought that he didn't because he didn't know how to deal with such things in another way.

Because it's good to know these things... I dunno... I guess I'm slightly demented but don't worry I still have a heart.

There is no link to the actual killing. Plus they were just talking about it not showing the video!

the parents should have noticed the warning signs, and not keep a gun in the house if thats where he got it, also those kid could try not being mean, that kids bloods is on there hands as well.

Or he could have not taken the coward's way out. Then again he was eleven I suppose.

Well actually the mom is a single parent. I also don't know where he may have gotten the gun. They may have talked about it on Ellen but I missed it.

That's actually what I meant, and the latter was more of a joke.

It is partially his fault for acting on his impulses.

What warning signs? You can't really stop someone if they're going to do it. You can try and console them, but who says you can stop the act?

I remember wanting to commit suicide when I was 10. My parents could talk to me, but they had no way of stopping me if I set my mind to do it.

He buys a a cheap ass gun from a dealer with birthday money or a credit card or one of his friend's fathers has one, he obtains it, hides it, and then lies to his mom that he's gonna go to his friends house, goes out to a field, and shoots himself.

It's pretty easy.

I wouldn't expect much better from an eleven year old but in all honesty I think even at that age you'd realise that suicide is just letting them win.

I couldn't find it. I looked hard but , nothing... no cigar.

Well I believe He shot himself in the restroom at school.

Also.. have any of you heard of this story?

thebattler are you thinking of committing suicide? you seem to have it all thought out, do you need the number of the suicide hot line, which the kid could have also called by the way.

Because, of course, people in the midst of suicidal depression can be expected to make perfect decisions. :/.

I'd disagree.

I've been clinically depressed, and you aren't rational. You can't see any way out of your troubles, and it's just generally not conducive to good reasoning.


Unless a suicidal person was in no way sad or depressed I don't hold them responsible for what they've done.

Alright, a double-post, but the general tone of posts in here is pretty spammy. As such, I'm changing the topic to a discussion of suicide in general, and I'd ask that people make more in-depth posts.

I used to hate living and want to kill myself but I got over it and found purpose, when you have purpose I think you are less likely to kill yourself or want to kill yourself, find something you like and stick with it
