There is no room for advancement in retail. Knowing how to work a cash register isn't going to land you a real job. "Customer service" isn't a legitimate job skill.
I love how it's easy to criticize greedy rich CEO's, but for some reason the failures that work for them that have made no attempt to better their lives are somehow victims of foul play. It's called a minimum wage job for a reason; you shouldn't expect anything above pocket change.

To me I guess It comes down to one thing. And you are right, it is easy to pin point CEOs for attack.
I guess the saying goes.
"The World Needs Ditch Diggers" I just say, is it to much to ask to pay them enough to live off of? Especially if they are working for a company that makes far more than enough money to double every employees salary and still be fine, as well as give them benefits of some kind.
If they all had the ambition you seem to have, and they all went to college, and they where all looking for the White Collar Job. Then we would have a serious problem. Because no one would be Building the Office Buildings you work in, or cashiering at the stores you like to shop in, or digging the ditches for the sewage pipes you like to S**t in.
I guess its just a difference of opinion. Won't really be solved on here.
But I like to think that the idea of AMERICA is that we are all in this together, and it should not be a cater to the rich and crap on the poor society. We should not allow large corporations to take advantage of people the way they do. If they are not doing that here, they are sending out tons of jobs over seas, which could be another reason why we have fewer jobs, and more people trying to get what ever they can, even if it means working at Wal-Mart. Which sucks, but it is better than sitting on the street.
