seriously messed up (collar bomb)

I remember reading a much longer article about this a long time ago. At that point, the case was unsolved, but according to this article, it has been solved now. I'm very happy that it has been. In my experience reading different articles on murder, serial murder, ect. This case in particular is more then likely the most unique. My question is, if you were put into the situation of the pizza man (Brian Wells), how would you handle it? What would you do? I'm trying to track down the first article I read about it, seeing as it is MUCH more descriptive. It talks about the notes and clues the plotters left for Wells, as well as many more facts and theories.

Well...surely there's not much you can do? Other than what they tell you to. If you didn't, they'd just blow you up; if you were in the shop at the time it would probably kill loads more people at the same time.
I guess the problem would come when you have to explain it to the police...If you can prove your innocence (and not get blown up in the meantime), you're sorted.

That's what this guy was having problems with. The "plotters" made him rob a bank, which he was unsuccesful at. When he told the police he had a bomb around his neck, they didnt believe him. By the time he convinced them, it was too late unfortunately.

Yeah that's kinda the point I was getting at. You'd have to hope that they could get the bomb off before you explode...And then try and prove your innocence once you're not in immediate danger. I don't think trying to explain to the police that you're not guilty is your primary concern when you have a bomb round your neck.

Good point. The poor guys dead and they're still saying that he "might" have been a willing participant blah blah blah... I wish I could find the old article I read about it. It's much better. Also, I've been looking for a better article about the case being solved. But so far the same one just keeps coming up.

According to the Wikipedia file on that guy, this guy was involved with the bomb being attached. He didn't know it was real until it was too late. He was planning on sharing the cash with the others involved, and tell the police he was a hostage. Situation didn't turn out that well, and the people behind this are still at large.

I think the wiki has been updated since last I read (which was a few years ago if memory serves). By the way, what is the exact date on this event, if anyone has it?

Aye... I remember seeing this live on TV. It's rather shocking seeing someone dying in such a gruesome manner. I do feel sorry for him.
