Hypocrits, damn hypocrits.
I am sick of the nut job hypocrits screwing up this world.
America has to help Tibet! Why? Shouldn't we stay out of other countries buisness? No, it's wrong. But if we go in you will whine and ***** because we are "taking control", even thought you say it is the right thing to do, so what do we do. We go in and help them, then they and the whole world complain about America some more. Another thing, why can America not ever act in self interest? EVER. It allways has to be for someone else. It's like the mom who helps all of her whiney kids and never has time for herself. She manages to maintain herself but never gets to enjoy anything. No. Because if we lift one damn finger for ourselves some ******* has to find something wrong with it and I am sick. Stop the war in Vietnam. Why? Because people are dieing. Well you have to pull out so more don't die. BUt more will die because the communists are ruthles bastards. No America is the ruthless ones. Really? Yes. Why? Becuase you kill people. But they kill people too, and for the wrong reasons. Yeah well it's still wrong. So you are just going to close your mind you stupid hippy? Yeah man. Well fine let's give the squeky dumbass wheel the greese. Look what happend, the communists and pol pot took over and kill MILLIONS. No we weren't losing the war, we kicked the commies asses while we were restricted by our own government. We tried to help those people, the ones you were going to ***** about when they started dieing, but then you protest the war to help those people. THen you just left them hanging. *******s. Look at the hypocracy, it is disgusting. Presidential assassinations...ignorant protests...Jimmy Carter ruining an olympic teams lives...which also sparked this obsession with mixing sports and politics. What a load of crap. This is horrible, and it is happening again. Learn. Rant over.

Re: Hypocrits, damn hypocrits.
Hypocracy keeps society happy. If no one was a hypocrite, we wouldn't be able to enforce laws.

Re: Hypocrits, damn hypocrits.
Though I would have put things a lot differently, yes, you are right.
I am amazed at the people who say that we should never war unless the people of the other country support it, or if it benefits them, or some sort of other circumstance. Because these circumstances will almost certainly contradict themselves at some point.

Re: Hypocrits, damn hypocrits.
I can see where you're coming from, and in general, I agree. But I have to bring up that maybe Tibet needs to stick up for themselves. Here's my personal analogy:
Big bully (aka China) picks on little kid everyone likes (Tibet), but obviously no likes him enough to help immediately. So, little kid learns how to stick up for himself. Not only does he learn how to defend himself, but he teaches others how to stick up for themselves too, and has become independent. However, when big bully brings a gun to school, then it's time for someone (aka the USA) to throw a few linebackers on the bully and break his arms. I would really like to see Tibet fight for itself and force communist China to stop the violence, but since Tibet has no army, really, and China is starting to use violence to keep Tibet in line, it's time for countries to back up Tibet for real, not by boycotting the Olympics, but by providing political and military backup. Here's my personal rant: Boycotting the Olympics has done NOTHING to help Tibet. Sure, China now knows that the world hates them, but that just fosters dislike and does nothing to solve the problem. I also seem to recall Germany hosting the Olympics during WWII, and no one protested then. We actually proved that no race was any more superior or inferior, that anyone is capable of gold medals. I think we should set an exmaple for China and show them how to treat other countries by letting them host the Olympics and build better relationships with other countries without using military force. Of course, this would all take place in my little happy world that will never happen.

That wasn't our real reason, of course, but the point stands. Most now consider the Iraq war a bad decision.

Re: Hypocrits, damn hypocrits.
See, most people have take issue with America not because they are hypocrites, oh no. If it was such a thing, the only explanation as to why 'they' somehow reserve this special hate for us as opposed to more honest dictatorial polities would be an exercise in irrationality.
The real issue, however, is our tendency to be hypocritical ourselves on certain issues. Because self-interest is fine. Really. It's shady and all, but being honest about it is still being honest. But then we have this really annoying habit of beating up the drum of liberty and freedom and democracy for all. It's a little annoying for us rationalists who would rather the U.S. work on an open realpolitik policy. In fact, it's downright embarrassing. And, some might say... Hypocritical. |
