Meh, being a minority of minorities, first as a non-Arab in an Arab world, then as a South Asian in a Britain that was far less tolerant of them at the time, then as a new immigrant in New York City (wasn't bad at all, to be honest), but then as a Muslim brown man in the deep south for many years, including the 9/11 days, it really is something that does happen, but far too often is used as a mental crutch in a defeatist way. Modern accommodating attitudes about how it's okay to be different (it is, but only creates a victimhood that goes nowhere in the end) and how bullies shouldn't bully over such things.

A nice, hugs-for-all vision, but in reality a problematic approach for character development. In short, yes, it is basically not letting kids get a spine for themselves. The trick isn't to take solace in being unique and complaining about injustice done by popular society, it's to show that society you are not someone you can make fun of.

How about all those exclusive black shows with only black actors in them? How about all thse comedy shows where they bash all white people? How about those incidences where whites bashed on blacks and there was a contraversy?

You see there is racism everywhere from almost every single race...

I would also like to point out one of my favorite book characters is black, Drizzt Du'Urden the Drow Ranger.

I will not disagree that racisim doesnt exist. Its a sad fact of life. It can happen to anyone at any time. I just wish we could all just look past skin color and get to know the person before you judge them.

Oh and Drizzt Do'Urden owns, I haven't read any D&D literature but I have heard of him, even saw him in Baldur's Gate.

Yeah It wouldn't be a good idea to make a current white character black or a black character white.. like if they make Ganondorf white as Link or Zelda black.. no... what I say is.. add more black characters, not change the current ones.

I understand that you have a connection of sorts to how the character may look, but Link just isn't a good example. His age and hair color change every two games, give or take. Would a skin color change really be so drastic? Now, had you said Mario, I would agree with you.

And I wasn't arguing from the position of them changing a character's skin color, but it seemed to me that you said that you never would've liked these characters in the first place had they not been White. That's what I had a problem with.
