Alert to your email
i fowarded this email You must be alert during the next days. Do not open any message with
an attached filed called "Invitation" regardless of who sent it. It is a virus that opens an Olympic Torch, which "burns" the whole hard disc C of your computer. This virus will be received from someone who has your E-mail address in his or her contact list, that is why you should send this E-mail to all your contacts. If you receive an E-mail called "invitation", even if it per sent by a friend, do not open it, and shut down your computer immediately. This is the worst virus announced by CNN, and it has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. McAfee discovered this virus yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept.

Re: Alert to your email
This email was sent to me last year, around mid-year.
A late notice, but maybe it started in my region. Who knows? And does it really damage your whole hard drive and computer? Sounds like a joke that someone made up. Seriously. I have been hearing it everywhere. The thing is, I deleted it before I opened it. So my computer is saved I guess.

Re: Alert to your email
Ahh... The joys of running linux. If i could convert people to scrap windows and use linux there would be hardly any of these problems.
Once the email is opened it would be almost impossible for it to integrate with the system due to the root folder being restricted to all but me. Unless the person who created the virus specifically targeted linux users, which happens very rarely. Still though, a very thoughtful warning to people who recieve this email. It just shows how unsafe the digital world is. 8(

Re: Alert to your email
^ Yeah true. I wonder who would think it is really that fun to destroy someone else's computer. I wouldn't even bother to do something like that. Just wastes time and makes a lot of people hate you if they ever found out that you were the one who made it and sent it worldwide.
Lol, those idiots. But I don't really think that one email can do so much damage to a computer. It just sounds like a joke. Tell me. Has anyone ever opened it and watched afterwards on what happened to their computer, or know a friend or someone who was a victim of this email? I'd like to know whether it's true or not...

Re: Alert to your email
I think you would be surprised as to what viruses can actually do.
I've read about cases where someone has managed to blow up computer monitors just by uploading a virus. They come in all shapes and sizes. *Thinks* Hmm... I have an almost dead pc sitting in my bedroom. I kinda fancy a little experiment. If anyone has this virus, can you send it to me at docula79@yahoo.co.uk. I'll stick it on my crap pc while running windows and see if i can destroy it. I might even film it for you guys. Lol. xP

Re: Alert to your email
There's only one thing more annoying than recieving viruses in an email, and that's hoax chain letters. It's pretty funny how you're trying to help us out and stop this virus spreading, but in doing that you're spreading this spam. :p
Thanks anyway.

Re: Alert to your email
You know that there are so many other emails out there that I have received last year that can do so much damage if opened and downloaded.
Technology these days are powerful. It seems to have a balance with good and evil. I should not have deleted that email so that I could send it to you Hylian #1. I would like to know what it can actually do since someone sent it to me last year during June/July. Anyone out there that has accidentally opened it?

Re: Alert to your email
^ I know it's old news.
But have you accidentally opened it? Or do you know anyone who has opened it? If it's old, then is it all a joke, or a virus that is capable of destroying your entire hard drive and everything?

Re: Alert to your email
Like I said, it's a hoax. The virus doesn't even exist. Anyway, as long as you keep your anti-virus software up to date you really don't have to worry about anything.

Re: Alert to your email
Eh, anti-virus software is purely reactionary, it can only stop viruses the programmers know about.
That said, this is simply an old hoax, not anything to be worried about. So, without further delay, locked.
