Your opinion on the American president.

I have noticed that George Bush's approval rating has been going down in percentages, and I wonder, how many of you believe that Bush is still a good president?

As for myself, given the current circumstances of the state of the world, with high gas prices and the threats of terrorists it seems that people begin to repress their anger upon Bush, a leader and figure head of the country. Although, I believe he could be frank and get his points and opinions across without rambling on, for example, he says "...we must break America of its oil addiction..."

Frankly put, I believe that the president is doing a good job, but no body is perfect, including our U.S. president. Also, my opinion upon the war is: if you start some thing, finish it.
Finally, I say, there is no clear right or wrong, some things were wrong, for example: wire tapping is good IF USED CORRECTLY; Bush did not use it correctly, so there is some good and bad to both sides of the issue, you can just never tell what is the right thing to do all the time. (thanks for reading this last paragraph, its kind of a long-winded ramble).
Any thoughts you have are open for this thread, I appreciate your posts, and thank you.

Re: Your opinion on the American president.

I don't know much about the innerworks of politics, but despite that I don't approve of Bush.

I never had approved of him actually, and with this "war on terrorism" I just say that history will most likely not mention him in more then a page or not in good lighting.

Re: Your opinion on the American president.

I don't approve of Bush, nor have I ever.

That said, I've started to respect him for all the scandals broiling within the administration that he isn't involved in. A good example is some of Cheney's simply mind-numbing shenanigans over the Plame incident. To have the VP directly involved in such a snafu but not the president himself is some positive contrast.

Meanwhile I haven't had any new cause to seriously dislike Bush in a long time. I suspected what would happen in Iraq long before the war started. And now that the Chez Iraq waiter is bringing the administration its check it seems to have humbled accordingly, at least by its public face.

Of course, the sad part is that while I don't approve of Bush, I'm not particularly thrilled regarding the alternatives.

Recently? That's been the case for a year or two now.

As for my opinion of him...

I don't particularly care for him these days. It's complicated and I've grown tired of talking about it on forums. I still would not have voted for Kerry, or Gore. I'm not really happy anymore with Bush either though.

I highly doubt anyone one the internet complaining about Bush or any other leader has enough understanding of politics and economics to truly make even an educated guess. I have taught myself quite a bit and in the end... I just don't know.

I will be happy to see him go though, if only so we get a better public speaker (face it, Bush gives bad speeches) and someone less polarizing.

I think Bush is a great president. Without a leader like him Iraq would not be free. It is this one reason that makes him so great, liberating Iraq from the opression of totalitarianism.

Re: Your opinion on the American president.

I personally don't care for Bush, and I never have. I knew he would win the 2004 elections, but there neither candidite seemed fit for the job. In the 2000 elections, well, we all know what happened there, and I shall leave it at that.

But I must say I disapprove of him using our country's resources more on Iraq then on the US. I feel that he should put more attention into this country, outside of these ridiculous attacks on various members of the community such as the gays. Instead of having us fight terrorism, he instead divides us like this and makes it worse for himself by authorizing things like the wire tapping when we aren't paying attention to the serious issues. Lately I feel the average American is being excluded from the goverment's workings.

You know if you had humor I might be thinking you were making a joke unfortunatly I know you aren't...

Seriously Bush is like one of the worst presidents ever! The whole of the US is being sold out and is going being ****ed by every sheik that has oil!

Whahahaha you know sometimes I think the apocolypse is coming with people like you
Well, technically, Iraq IS "free".

The problem is, having pushed Humpty Dumpty off the wall, Bush is having the same problem as All the Kings Horses and All the Kings Men.

Nictel, I really don't appreciate the tone of your post. When more than half of your post consists of derisive laughter and/or derogatory comments about the people you are in dialogue with, take a step back and edit it. Especially when you find yourself typing anything in all caps for emphasis.

Even the two sentences that I didn't highlight would have dubious value for the post.

Always be careful about posting possibly inflammatory comments. The last thing these boards need is a spark on tinder.

But by fighting terrorism, he is making it safer for our country.

Yes, I think Bush is a good president. Not the best ever, but I definitely support his morals. I'd rather have a good president with a bad domestic policy than vice versa. The other options in the '04 election were horrible. I'll leave it at that.

Bush is a very good President. I truthfully think that all of you who are saying he's the worst guy on earth, if he decided not to go to war, would you not now be railing on him about that? I personally like Bush.

Thank you! Finally someone who understands! People don't seem to understand that Bush is the one who helped get the terrorists out of Iraq and KEEP them there. The reason why terrorists aren't coming to attack us now is because they are over in Iraq fighting.

Ah yes. I seem to have forgotten that Bin Laden and his cronies are Iraqis. Even if Al Qaeda had dealings with the organization that is now the Iraqi Insurgency, they are not, nor have they ever been, the same organization.

Re: Your opinion on the American president.

Wow, I haven't seen a political thread in here for a long time. A good breather away from all the religion topics.

Anyway, my opinion on Bush is that I do dislike him, but not outright hate him and use biased, unoriginal comments aginst Bush like I used to do. I think that his idea for getting rid of Saddam and putting democracy in it was good, but the huge flaw with it is that Iraq will never truly be a peaceful democracy and that we are having our soliders over there trying to keep the insurgents activity as low as possible. I say let Iraq deal with it as it is their country now and that the insurgents will never stop and will never even slow down.

As for how Bush handles our country here, I think it was pretty damn wrong of him to approve of tapping wires without a permit (or was it with?), not to mention approve of leaking information on a CIA agents wife. However, I feel he has no blame in the price of gasoline and that of the economy. Really, I feel that the economy is actually starting to do much better than it was back in 2003. All in all, I just look at Bush as not a good president, but certainly not the worst.

Re: Your opinion on the American president.

I don't like Bush, but I have repect for him. Some of the things Bush do, I get upset, but I forgive him. One thing I hate is "Bush Bashers", mocking Bush. I hate it when people say Bush cheated in 2004 when it was clear that Kerry drop out, or people say stuff like "Bush is the worst president of all time!" Many other president had made major mistakes as well, don't use Bush as a scrapgoat for all the world's trouble.

Other thing people say is that "Bush hates black people! Bush only help white people during the hurricane season." Last time I check, more white people suffer than blacks during the 2005 hurricane season. When black people say that biased crap about Bush, it don't make Bush look bad, at makes us(African-Americans) looks bad and complete morons.

On a scale of 1-10, Bush gets a 6. He isn't a good president, but not a horrible one.

Re: Your opinion on the American president.

I never approved of him from the beginning. Though the fact that he wasn't the one that I chose to support for, his latter actions on Iraq further fueled my disapproval of him. Of course, some might say that the War on Terrorism is justified, yet, it is War on Iraq, not on terrorism. If it's about getting those terorists responsible for all these deaths on 9/11, I would have supported him. But the way how he jumped from WMD, saving the world, to saving and liberating Iraqis is just ridiculous.

Contrary to popular belief, we are still trying to hunt down Osama and his band of fools. Also, Saddam was a known terrorist with WMD's, so eliminating him from the terrorist equation helped enormously.
