How 'bout that Gospel of Judas?

Watched tonight's premiere of the programme about the Gospel of Judas on National Geographic.

Have people heard?

It was a very interesting programme. Researchers say that it may change the way we understand Jesus. I am not sure myself. So I explored various online-bookshops and looked for it untill I came over a ready English translation on National Geographic's website. I copied it out and now I sit here with 7 pages in my lap.

Some background info from the programme I watched: It has been dated(w/Carbon-14) to between the 3rd and 4th centuries A.D. A team of researchers with diverse specialities assembled some time ago to date, analyse and translate it. The essence of the text is that it states that Judas was asked by Jesus to betray him. Which is not in accordance with the four gospels in today's Bible.

I believe the text is considered gnostic. One researcher(on tv-programme) claimed that the text represents teachings of Christs' message at an "advanced level". And there is talk of sparks of deity in each human being that need to be freed.

Well, I'll wait for people to study the document for themselves.

In which case take that awful, great effort and PM a mod to do something, which you could have done in the time it took you to spam up this topic.
